Notre Dame's search for tight ends in the 2026 class has reached Montana. Matt Ludwig, a four-star recruit from Billings (Mont.) West, reported a Notre Dame offer Tuesday following a conversation with ND offensive coordinator/tight ends coach Mike Denbrock.
Ludwig, whose nickname is Moose, caught 53 passes for 822 yards and four touchdowns last season. Rivals ranks Ludwig as the No. 17 tight end in the 2026 class.
This is the first recorded Notre Dame offer in Montana in the Rivals database, which spans to 2002. Ludwig previously planned official visits to Georgia (June 6-8), Texas Tech (June 13-15) Michigan (June 20-22). He's also scheduled an unofficial visit to Michigan for March 20-22.
