Notre Dame announced Tuesday morning that it has named former Virginia Tech and Wisconsin offensive line coach Joe Rudolph as its next offensive line coach.

The hiring, per the release, will be effective at the conclusion of the university’s standard employment process.

“We are excited to add offensive line coach Joe Rudolph to our staff,” head coach Marcus Freeman said in the release. “He has a proven track record of developing elite college football players, many of whom have gone on to also experience great success in the NFL. We look forward to Joe having a similar impact in our program.”

Something I've also learned this morning: Notre Dame's offensive line coaching position is now an endowed position with the title of Joe Moore Offensive Line Coach.

Here's our previous story on Joe Rudolph being picked to replace the retired Harry Hiestand.
