Predictions are FOR FUN!
  • Nobody cares about your prediction once the game is over!
  • You can always change your prediction.
  • Your prediction will NOT JINX anything.
  • Saying "I never make any predictions" really means you're no fun!
  • Feel free to elaborate with your predictions. That just makes it more fun!
It's EASY AND FUN so here goes:

ND QB BW seems to have gained some confidence...........both running the ball and passing. At this stage MSU is an unknown but the talk is the MSU QB is pretty athletic himself. Both teams will try to run / stuff the run. MSU will try to take a page out of the Georgia defensive playbook.

Have a feeling the team with the best passing game wins and MSU has the home field advantage.

MSU 31, ND 30

I'm shocked by your "prediction" which is really not a prediction. It's an immature jab at ND and nothing more.
Thank this dope too. I guarantee ND wins now. He's good luck with his Desmond Howard-style picks.

..........Smart,

Tut tut! LOL. It's a message board plain and simple.............nothing personal, nothing mean spirited. So, step up and make your prediction.......Geezz, it's just not that complicated!

30-20 Irish in a tough battle against a game MSU squad. Irish do just enough in the passing game to eek out a few yards to soften up MSU's run stuffing approach. Dex gets a late long TD to seal the deal.

MSU 31 ND 27

It will be close and it will be hard fought as these games tend to be and I think that MSU will prevail in a close one. The MSU defense has been effective against the run thus far. MSU offense seems a little more balanced so I give State the nod.

I'm just hoping that a Kelly-coached ND team finally shows that the team culture has actually changed - by not playing down to a (talent-wise) inferior opponent and not finding yet another new and different way to lose a game!

I predict either a run away win by ND, a run away win by MSU, or a close game decided on a few critical plays/mistakes...

Hahaha. Just kidding. I couldn't resist it though.

NDlb46.........

Actually you make a very good point. When teams are evenly matched it's usually the team with the least mistakes that prevails. Albeit, Georgia was an exception.

Spartina 26
ND 24

Imo this is a bad matchup for ND as Sparty likes to control the clock and pound the rock. Dantonio will run LJ Scott and Gerald Holmes at Daelin Hayes. Book it.

ND has over all looked about as good as I thought last month. Even though the defense has been better and the offense has endured some growing pains.

Sparty has looked MUCH better than I thought they would be in the pre-season. Playing at home and at night should also help the underdog. Also, Dantonio is very good at getting his entire team to believe and work as ONE. I am not sure Brian Kelly elicits the same esprit de corps.

Add it all together, and I see something like ND 24 - Sparty 20.

I feel much better about ND's chances after reading this post.

NDs offense is too one dimensional for me and your defense doesn't scare anyone. Same can be said about MSUs D. Home, at night, the team will be hungry and focused.

MSU 31 ND 27

Last I checked the Navy offense is also one dimensional but they still win games! All kidding aside, I agree that we haven't shown enough of a passing game to scare anyone so it's imperative the Irish show some semblance of a more balanced attack. To be honest, not having watched much tape on Sparty I'm just reading the various sites and beat writers to make any honest assessment of our chances.

We had over 200 yards rushing and passing both games and have playmakers all over the field on offense.

I, too, though, will need to see how well we can throw it. Gut says better than you, but who knows. I also think the weakest part of our D (getting beat over the top) is your weakest and our strength (run D) is your strength.

What team will hit big plays in the passing game? Not sure.

Our victories haven't been over national powers but talking smack after beating Bowling Green and Western Michigan? This is always a hard fought hard hitting rivalry but neither team really is more battle tested than the other.

Just giving my homer opinion. MSU will limit your run game. You will hit some big pass plays but Wimbush will be rattled. Lewerke shines for MSU.

Don't know if you guys watch BTN Live, but they talked a bit about our game. One guy said Kelly vs Dantonio will be somewhat of a chess match and wouldn't be surprised if ND came out in a spread pass look. What do you think about that?

ND has played SEC Georgia. That makes ND more battle tested than MSU. MSU coming off a bye. That makes them more prepared, especially with new wrinkles. How any of this translates to one team over another is anybody's guess. At least our MSU friends admit to being homers. That Duo cat really believes he has us all fooled with his impartial, just having fun, good ole boy, a beer and a shot with the guys and gal routine. Never a dull moment around here.

If ND can't run they are in trouble. With that said , I think they will run quite well and control the game. ND 38 MSU 17

Heading into the season it was thought that UGA, Stanford and USC were the games that determine the success of the season.
As of now SU and USC are having problems that do not look to be resolvable in the short term.
SU has no QB. No resolution is imminent.
USC has no depth at QB, OL, CB. The list of starters currently injured and questionable grows daily. USC is seriously hurting.

MSU is a must win game for ND. ND 24 MSU 20

Justified............

Re: "USC has no depth at QB, OL, CB. The list of starters currently injured and questionable grows daily. USC is seriously hurting."

USC will play Utah at home and then travel to play ND. Meanwhile, with a bye week ND will have 2 weeks to prepare for USC. Should be a great game!

ND 44
MSU 20

BW has seen UGA so this state team will be less of a threat. But state will look to send BW to the bench should he be running the ball.

I think we will see BW use his arm, and it should be fun to watch.

The team in southern california is 3-0 and their QB is going to be a great one. Would be great to hit that game 5-1.

I always expect a hard fought close game when playing MSU under Dantonio. This week is no different. We know they will try to stuff the running game and force us to throw against aggressive man to man coverage. This will be a great test to see how good our offensive line really is, and a good measuring stick for our running game. Most of us think we stumbled against an elite defensive front seven against Georgia, and excelled against two teams who played really good defense the past few years in Temple and BC. Week four will start to validate or invalidate these views, starting with our play against MSU. I just want a win, but as for predictions, I think we win and barely cover the spread of four points....something along the lines of 24-17.
