How many years does Notre Dame start 5 and 1 with 5 blowouts and a close 1 point loss to the #4 ranked team with 6 games left with 5 of those 6 teams ranked? Win out and Notre Dame is in the playoffs.
Why are some of you posters saying "wait until next year or the year after that and Notre Dame will be great"??? Do your wives beat the crap out of you every night? Are you afraid your wee little baby kitten hearts will be broken??? Most likely Notre Dame will suck next year--- When was the last time Notre Dame had two great seasons in a row?
This 2017 Irish team has great talent and Great chemistry. You don't often get that. The 2012 team had great chemistry but lacked the great talent that the 2017 teams has.
I believe the Irish will make the playoffs and when you get in anything can happen. And someone like Georgia or Clemson might upset the mighty Crimson tide. Maybe even Auburn. Maybe Wimbush starts hitting Kevin Stepherson and EQ for long passes along with his dazzling runs and the Irish take down Bama !!???
Everyone needs to get off the 9 and 3 or 10 and 2 train and get on board the 11 and 1 playoff train !! I will leave you with some Johnny Cash and company with "This Train" !!! This Train is Bound for Glory !! Get on Board !!

I love the optimism also, but getting past USC, Miami, NCST, and Stanford without a loss would be challenging for any team, let alone a young ND team with a QB who has not yet shown he can deliver when the run is stuffed. It may happen, and BW may light it up at some point. Receivers need to step up too and help the kid out. Right now Miami looks to be the big test, NCST a close second. First up USC. Pound them Cali kids then on to the next game.

Our Florida trips always seem to end up gay. I think at this point we still don't know much about the Irish.

I would say we had more unknown going into the year than Georgia....we lost to them by 1.

Also I would say we have imporved since that week. Now if we rematched Georgia would be able to run the ball this time around? Possibly. BW at least has much more confidence in taking off and is a much greater threat than the georgia week. In other words a Georgia rematch I would say we could run the ball better. We can't really throw against anyone unless Book comes in...but then the running suffers a little.

Clemson losing tonight is a big boost for our chances. If we go 11-1, and that’s a big IF, then the ACC is out of the playoffs picture. Hope Stanford and USC win this weekend, and hope Bodi has the right call on the TCU game.

Notre Dame beat three straight power five teams on the road by 20 points or more for the first time since 1974. When Ara was coach. Ara is smiling down from heaven on the Golden Domers. The Irish will not pull a Clemson and lose to a Sryacuse. This team is hungry and has great chemistry. They all say they not only need to win every game but to dominate every team. I think Matt Ballis has Brainwashed all of the players ! Go Irish !! Beat the Trojans !
