Harrison Wellmann, a 6-foot, 180-pound wide receiver from NCAA Division III school Johns Hopkins, tweeted out Tuesday evening that he had received a grad transfer opportunity from Notre Dame. A source told me he would come as a walk-on with a chance to earn a scholarship. His film was reportedly impressive enough to talk about that possibility. He's from College Station, Texas, and won the national Punt, Pass and Kick competition as a third-grader. He was a high school teammate of Notre Dame safety Brandon Joseph, a recent transfer from Northwestern. He had 85 catches for 1,252 yards and 17 TDs this past season at Johns Hopkins. He is a sprinter on the school's track team this spring. Writing this up now.
