Matt Freeman of Irish Sports Daily broke the news today that Notre Dame defensive end Jordan Botelho underwent surgery last week on a pectoral injury that occurred in offseason training away from campus.

Freeman cited a source that indicated Botelho's recovery will take roughly four months. Notre Dame offensive tackle Charles Jagusah missed close to five months last season following surgery on his pectoral.

I spotted Botelho on campus this morning in a sling, but I hadn't been able to confirm the details of the injury until moments ago.
