The committee is unbiased---they can tell the Irish would be undefeated and looking good if not for all the turnovers. They might not reward the sloppy play with upping our ranking like my esteemed colleague,TheSkiBro seems to think but they arenot dropping us from the top 4 either !

The Irish will blow out Stanford this weekend if they hold on to the ball and I believe they will.

I am sure that is all the Irish coaching staff is preaching is Hold on to the ball this week.

Coach Kelly and Coach Denbrock are calling perfect games--Believe me.

I believe this team # 127 is on a mission. They try so damn hard on every play they sometimes get sloppy with the football. Most of the fumbles are when the Irish players are making great yardage or are near the goal line ready to score. They aren't getting hammered in the backfield and coughing up the ball that is for sure.

Kizer had a couple of great games and then has had a couple bad ones--again not for lack of effort.

He is trying to make plays when he should just throw the ball away and have the Great kicker Justin Yoon get us three.

We are one game away men ! Stanford is very beatable ! This coaching staff is going to have this team prepared as usual. And this Irish team led by Jaylon Smith and Sheldon Day on defense and Deshone Kizer, Chris Brown, Will Fuller and Nick Martin on offense will be pumped up and sky high for Stanford !!

Max Redfield will make up for the loss of K. Russell by having a monster game with double digit tackles along with Jaylon Smith !

I am very confidant in this team !! They are all Fighters and have great GodGiven talent !!

No way does Stanford beat us this year !!

ND definitely blows out BC without the TOs. The Clemson game surely turns out different but hard to tell how different since CU sort of went into 'prevent mode' once they got up a few scores on ND. My gut tells me that ND would have won without the TOs but probably not in blowout fashion.

too bad. turnovers are part of the game. woulda, coulda, shoulda. if nd goes 11-1 and doesn't get in so be it. no truly dominant teams in my eyes except maybe bama as they seem better and better each week. can't say that about anyone else. they appear similar to ohio st. last year. at least one one loss team is going to get left out.

Echo, in all serious about Bama, what is there signature win(s)? LSU? Really? I think they are a good team as well, but not to the degree I have been hearing and reading. They lost, at home, to an ole Miss team that list to Memphis, who were beaten by both Temple and Navy. Why do they get a pass for that?

can't compare games first off. i go by what i see. sure they lost to ole miss and it took 5 turnovers and a fluke td pass. i don't think they get a pass because of all the teams no other has continued to improve as they have. on a neutral field they'd be favored against everyone. i hate the term "signature win ". what is that ? who determines that ? you play your schedule and you strive to improve each and every week. when the season is over a group of hopefully qualified human beings will determine who they believe the 4 most deserving teams are to make the playoff format. is it perfect ? hardly. but, few folks like the polls, fewer (not me) liked the BCS so this is what we have.

First let me say this has been an amazing season overall all things considered. However on OPs point, at the end of the day really good, elite teams don't turn the ball over. I have full confidence in saying the committee doesn't factor this in our favor, if anything it will eventually hurt us. None of it will matter in a week because if we have 2+ turnovers we'll be asking which ny day bowl are our options.

I, unlike many here, believe in the "eye test" and think it silly to believe that is not employed by the playoff committee. The "eye test" tells me the "best" four teams are Alabama, Notre Dame, Clemson and Michigan State right now. All have issues and all have "demerits" against them, for lack of a better word.

Iowa, Florida, OSU, UNC and to a lesser degree OU have either played there way out of consideration or played such a poor SOS it is hard to determine where they belong, but my "eye test" tells me, not in the Top Four.

I wish I could agree but on the eye test the last two weeks, we have failed. OU, for all their faults, has ascended more recently. I would push for the total body of work and sos argument over eye test right now. Stanford won't be a pretty win either if we pulled it out. Not sure it needs to be but we need to stay away from the eye test.

Injuries are considered bad luck or misfortune. Turnovers are not in the same category.

Clemson clearly backed off and played defensively after the first few scores - kind of like Alabama did in the NC game.

of course you would think that. you're not an nd fan. and of course you're wrong.
Why would you say something like that? Clemson did seem to get more conservative after getting up on ND. I am one of the biggest ND fans out there but, I'm not blind.

You may not be blind but me, Lady justice and the Committee are blind. We use truth and analytics and either way we slice it the Irish are in the playoff !

Come on, really? All I have to say is if the Irish can win convincingly over Stanford, they have a case. If they lose it over. By the way I don't mean a blowout. I mean a team that is fully focused and plays a good clean game.
