I'm sure the know it all coaches will disagree but so what. Echo(I wish I was a big big boy coach but ill stick to being a top notch pop warner pee wee coach) and penn44(god bless him, we don't agree on bk, however he is a Libitard hater and can't argue with that). Here is my take: Our receivers stink, period. I don't want to hear about all the talent they have, not happening. Here is who should be starting: St. Brown, Stepherson, CJ. The rest of these guys are not good, Boykin. Canteen, Claypool, these are second stringers. RB's ? Tony Jones is not good, he is 4th string. Adams, Dexter, Mcintosh, Jones. I'm sure I will here from Echo boy telling me how I am not at practice and I know nothing more than the coaches, but I don't have to be at practice. I watch the games and this is who should be playing period.

Chill dude. You have 0 control over what happens with the program. Try recognizing the gains that are legitimately happening this year. And maybe switch from amphetamines to Valium

Is ‘65 the year of your birth? If so, how can someone who is 50+ years old sound like a whinging little kid? I’m absolutely sure the coaches are going to sit every good player and play scrubs because they just want to.

claypool is pretty damn good. Delusional fan who can't be satisfied with a 23 pt road victory and 5-1 team

You never fail to amuse with your complete lack of knowledge of the game of football.

Claypool is very good . KS needs to get on the field with his speed . Boykin is getting better. ESB looks disinterested / hurt? I agree on Jones .

So, in other words, YOU'RE the know-it-all coach.

Just an FYI, Dexter Williams was hurt and out for the game today.
Yeah I knew that, talking about when everyone is healthy. By the way Coney started yesterday for martini. Sometimes the coaches get smart.

I thought the recievers played a bit inspired.... Until the jungle storm hit. Even then they still seemed upbeat.

They've been running routes with no clue where that ball is going with BW.

Book was delivering strikes....again until the down pour happened.

The OP is watching a different game than I am. I hate to say it, but St Brown does not deserve to start based solely on his play this season. He came in as our best receiver with lofty expectations, but he seems in a funk because he’s not getting the number of touches he expected. I appreciate that Wimbush has failed to see him on numerous plays when he worked himself open, and has throw poor passes when he does see him, etc... but St Brown has dropped several long balls, allows the DB to disrupt his routes early on, and has shown no inclination to go after and fight for the ball when needed. We need him to pull his head out and play to his considerable potential.

Claypool has been our best receiver and gets better every week. His blocking is off and on, as the announcers pointed out how he whiffed on a block yesterday that prevented a big gain on a jet sweep, and they also replayed him pancaking a DB on a TD run. He deserves to be starting.

Mack is getting better every game as well. He dropped one pass yesterday, but he is getting open a hell of a lot more than thrown to, and his blocking has improved weekly. I thought he and Wimbush were starting to develop some chemistry before Wimbush sat out this game, and I expect this will be evident the rest of the season.

I’d like to see Finke get more opportunity as he is the receiver version of McIntosh imho. Stepherson will start to emerge as the long ball threat he is, and Wimbush will benefit greatly from this, as will the other receivers. In terms of disappointing receivers, St Brown leads the list by a lot, and Mack was really disappointing the first two games, but the rust is coming off him and he is emerging.

Cant disagree with you on ESB, not sure what his problem is this year. He has the most potential in my opinion but he just isn't right this year.Overall the receiving core and TE are mediocre at best.

This is the part of the season where the Sky Is Falling ND fans don't know what to do with themselves, so they just start talking crazy.
Well the difficult part of our season starts on 21st, we will see. No more cupcakes the rest of the way.

"Whatever, Coney is the better player period"

Can't see how anyone can say this. It's certainly not a no-brainer. All three (Morgan, martini & coney) are playing pretty well. Definitely don't see coney being better than martini though. They may have some different strengths but there's no one glaringly better than the other.

Very true statement. While I hope to see the team win out, I am more interested in seeing if they can continue to play with the poise, focus, and attention to detail. In the past there seemed to be a bunch moments of sheer stupidity and loss of poise, focus, and attention to detail that lost many close games. And I'm talking about both coaches and players.

But this group, though they have made mistakes of course, don't seem to let it snowball and affect their mindset or performance on the next play or next series. That is refreshing. The MSU game was where it was most evident imho. If we lose a game or games the second half of the season and it is just because the other team was better, then I can live with that and feel good going into the next season. But if the team regresses to lacking focus and attention to detail and starts reaching for things that are outside of what they do normally or do well and it costs a game, then that's an issue.

Uh, no.

If you knew football or read the reports on the main page you would realize that Coney has missed more assignments than any of the other LBs.
Second, each player has a role in different schemes each week (this isn’t pee wee football). Martini has a certain role he plays & has done it great so far

As far as Stepherson, he has been on the field the last two weeks. And guess what? He either ran the wrong route or quit on the route in four of the five targeted passes to him.

This isn’t video games, you can’t just say “that guy is a 95 and that guy is an 85” and that is that. The most talented player is ESB & he is giving 60% effort right now.

You really should read the reports that are put out or listen to the podcasts & you would learn things.

Now that's just not fair, bringing up facts to blow up his argument.

As I said in my first post, he's the know-it-all. Just ask him.

Arguably the most uneducated thread the OP has ever started and heaven knows he's had plenty of dumb ones.

You're not at practice. You're not in the know. You are making assumptions based on zero knowledge. This is typical of most fans at most schools. Talk talk talk. That's why you have a different job.
