Why would a top recruit come to ND? This is not counting the current recruits. The whole nation knows the ND program is one disastrous season away from being completely blown up and starting back over with a new AD and new head coach.

Recruits will come to ND but a different kind of recruit. ND will no longer ( actually been this way for a time now) be a player for the upper tier that are considering an NFL football career. There are many teams comprised of such recruits. This is the direction the program is headed.

^ those kids are in for a bad enough time with BK, without heaping disparaging comments upon them.

The Name Notre Dame sells itself .
You could have Mother Teresa coaching football here and they still will recruit well.

Why can't they win if they recruit well? Something isn't adding up when Stanford is winning 10 games it seems every year. Their recruiting is average.

and expectations by ND fans are, "he was a 4* with offers"
but there is a wide range of 4* and ND is generally down into the pack, not at the top.
Offer lists are a joke as a tool. Look at the Simmons kid, he was a 4 with tOSU offer, then he commits and then he gets 'cut' a/c his composite rating in 88 range is far below that of current tOSU standards. So he is now the ND #1 LB target.

Fans have to realize, a good part of the decline is while the team gets talent, it is a different level talent from top teams.

And then this lesser talent runs head on into abysmal coaching and it is the classic 'clusterf'ing'

Kelly is gone. You told us there was no way he is coming back.

ND has had enough past success to continue to get top recruits as well as the appeal that is ND. We were in the conversation just last year, if BK continues to lose and carry himself the way he did this year, maybe a slight drop off. But then we will get a new coach and it starts over
