Despite a slow start that saw them trail 29-22 at the end of the first quarter, plus committing 25 turnovers, the sharp-shooting top-ranked Irish romped to the 24-point win.

Jackie Young had 28 points and 12 rebounds to pace the attack, while Arike Ogunbowale added 24 points and Jessica Shepard pulled down 16 rebounds to go with 15 points.

The highlight of the afternoon was sophomore Danielle Patterson's performance off the bench, especially after Brianna Turner picked up two early fouls. Patterson played 22 minutes and scored 14 points — 5 of 6 from the field and 4 of 4 from the foul line — and blocked three shots.

The turnover travails were overcome by converting 59.7 percent from the field ( 37 of 62) and 25 of 30 from the foul line.
