NFL deflate-gate report out

Now to start a movement to delete all the receiving records of Jerry Rice and an NFL investigation into Aaron Rodgers. Why stop now? It's interesting to note that Brady's four games are more than Ray Rice. What a joke. Convicted on maybe, could be, not really sure evidence.

I wonder if Mr Craft will give the NFL an apology like he demanded from the NFL a week or so before the Super Bowl? He was pretty demanding at his press conference wanting a apology if the so call allegations where false. Well egg on your face Robert Craft. Time to eat some humble pie.

When it's apparently common knowledge that NFL QBs go to great lengths to alter the balls(based on quotes from past and present NFL QBs) why should one guy be punished because he "more probably than not" had something to do with it? Like I said before, Aaron Rodgers has admitted to trying to get over inflated footballs put into play. Should he be suspended too?
Aaron Roger said he likes the balls over inflated. Don't think he ever said he tried to get them into play.

“‘I like to push the limit to how much air we can put in the football, even go over what they allow you to do and see if the officials take air out of it,’” - Aaron Rodgers

Don't waste your time. Some people want convictions, evidence, or as little evidence as possible, be damned. It's the punishment man, the punishment. Judge and jury. It runs rampant around here.

I was surprised it was ONLY 4 games. On appeal might get reduced to 2.......IMO Brady's RINGS are the only legacy he will be remembered for.

Yes and some people like to look the other way while others cheat, or maybe sweep it under the rug and forget about it. If you cant do the time, dont do the crime!

This will only assure that the Pats will not have a SB hangover. They could win the AFC East with T. Rees at QB.

Rest assured that BB will have them ready, we'll see how NFL ready Garropolo(sp?) is....

well the cheating didn't help the patriots win the game as they would have still given my colts a beatdown no matter what the balls were like. the penalties are a little too harsh in my opinion since the balls had nothing to do with the beatdown that they gave my colts but they did deserve some kind of punishment though for pulling a stunt like that

"I know you're nothing but an internet homer"

I have no idea what that means, and I dont know you from Adam so I'm not sure what you think you know about me, but keep on truckin!

I think the punishment was appropriate, but after what they did to Sean Payton a few years ago, I'm surprised Belicheat got off without a scratch
why ? the wells report made it clear that neither the coaching staff or front office were involved. the report also said the patriots cooperated fully in the investigation yet they are docked draft picks. it's 30 years hard labor for a parking ticket. it will go to an arbiter and bradys suspension will be reduced if not eliminated. this from a league that continues to fine players over sock heights and other uniform issues. a joke.

Because, like I said, Sean Payton was given a harsh suspension in the scandal involving the Saints, BB can say he didnt know, but head coaches usually do know whats going on with the team. Also, your analogy is ridiculous, but keep towing the Pats line, its cute....

What? They have made it clear the Pats did not cooperate with the investigation fully. One that that has been brought many times is Ted Wells wanted to interview the 2 equipment men a second time and the Pats said no way.

NFL has said that there was limited cooperation by the Patriots.

My take is still the same: The NFL looks/acted like the Three Stooges! This is now confirmed since an ex-Jets exec was in charge!!!??? So basically the NFL was prepared to ALLOW the Pats to cheat for at least the 1st half of a Championship game to be able to yell "gotcha". INSANE!!! Then they also "LOST" the footballs pregame.......did NOT document psi......used two gauges with different psi readings.....and did NOT fully check the Colts psi. Yep STUPIDITY run amok!!

to even compare the saints issue is stupid. that was a SAFETY issue. I'm not defending anyone just pointing out the tremendous overreaction by some to what is a minor misdemeanor. when it all plays out i'll be shocked if brady misses more than one game if any. the league has only itself to blame. hopefully they'll upgrade their protocols.

"minor misdemeanor" huh? Apparently, the people in charge have a different view.
new england's history of getting caught for major NFL offenses is unfortunate and unbecoming.
Wasn't the spygate fine the largest ever given to an NFL coach?
This is more of the same... and it's far from "minor" in the real world.

To suggest cheating the game is akin to a parking ticket is STUPID, its only a minor misdemeanor in YOUR eyes.. Many neutral parties have said that the Pats got what they deserved, and many with strong sources in the NFL offices have said that any appeal will be denied. So prepare to be surprised, I dont think Shady will lawyer up, unless he wants to give up the phone evidence, and he's already denied access to that

If I'm a Baltimore Ravens player or fan I would be pissed because the week before the Colts game, the Ravens where in the game and the deflated balls might have changed the out come of the game.

"The man the NFL hired to head its Deflategate investigation has broken his silence."

"Wells specifically responded to claims made by Tom Brady's agent, Don Yee, who attacked Wells' integrity and objectiveness in regard to the investigation. Yee described the report as "an incredibly frail exercise in fact-finding and logic" after the NFL announced Brady's four-game suspension Monday."

“I think it’s wrong to question my independence because you don’t like my findings," Wells said Tuesday during a conference call with reporters. "Mr. Yee is Mr. Brady's agent and is trying to do his job. But I totally reject any suggestion I wasn't independent."

"All of this discussion that somewhere people at the league office wanted to put some kind of hit on the most iconic, popular player in the league, the real face of the league, it just doesn't really make any sense," he said. "It's really a ridiculous allegation."

"In regard to Brady, Wells said the four-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback answered all his questions during an interview, but refused to turn over his electronic communications."

"I told Mr. Brady and his agents I was willing to not take possession of the phone, I don’t want to see any private communications," Wells said. "I said, ‘You keep the phone, you give me documents that are responsive to this investigation and I will take your word for it' and they still refused."

"Wells indicated the Patriots initially cooperated until he discovered Patriots game-day attendant Jim McNally refer to himself as the "deflator" in a text message. When he requested a follow-up interview with McNally, the Patriots refused."

“I asked for a second interview, I said I would go to New Hampshire, I would interview him in the morning, afternoon, night, I would do it whenever he was free," Wells said. "And they said not only could I not interview him, they wouldn’t even tell him of my request for an interview."

"In a statement Monday, Yee said he was present during Wells' interview of Brady, kept verbatim notes, and "[f]or reasons unknown, the Wells report omitted nearly all of Tom's testimony, most of which was critical because it would have provided this report with the context that it lacks."

Wells countered by challenging Yee to make the notes public."

"There's nothing, I guarantee you, in those notes that would have made any difference to my decision," Wells said. "So he should publish the notes and stop acting like there's some secret in the notes."

brady, hoody and co are "poster children" for what's wrong in sports. The fines and penalties prove it....

f tom brady and f michigan because I'm sure brady was doing this in college too..... michigan probably still does it. Anyone see the fab 5 banner?

One thing I found interesting about New England, RB BenJarvis Green-Ellis in four seasons with New England played in 53 games and had zero fumbles. In 2 seasons with Cincinnati he played in 31 games and had 5 fumbles. Less air in the ball means you can have a better grip on the ball.

the whole thing is "inflated" out of proportion; it should have just blown over. The investigator reacted exactly like he had an agenda. He made Brady's Lawyer's comments seem like they had some merit.

I predict Brady wins the appeal! gonna blow up in the NFL's face! Drugs Abuse Murderers and a lil bad air gets their wrath!

Hahaha....brady is a hermaphrodite. He can f himself.

and many neutral parties and former players alike have said its much ado about nothing. the best thing to come out of this is the league will be forced to address its ridiculous protocols that are currently in place. if it was up to me they would use new balls fresh out of the box for every game. I guess the height of players socks is more important. they police that but not the game balls. geniuses !

Fortunately, the ones whose opinion counted saw otherwise.
Agreed, on fixing the rules....
brady's agent has been very publicly called out. It will be interesting to see his response.

There's our common ground, I agree, it should never have been an issue.

Shady is really good, I cant understand why he and the Patriots organization in general wants to play with fire and cheat.

The fumble stats are very telling, that may have been more of an advantage than Brady had with throwing under inflated balls, shady organization....

Lots of jealousy involving Brady and the Pats. They were the youngest team to ever win a Super Bowl. They will be back in it again

If anyone here has actually thrown an NFL football, they know without a doubt the difference it makes to let the air out of the ball. To claim that it is not incredibly more easy to hold and throw is lying. I assume those on this board who claim it is not have never actually held a football, or are just plain lying.

Go Irish!

Yeah, everyone is jealous of hoody's 1/2 million dollar fine for cheating.
I bet David Tyree is still laughing.

did you guys actually pick up the footballs in question? you guys claiming that there was some huge advantage?
Bear in mind the officials handle the football on every play and they did not obviously notice this, the influence on the ball must have been very miniscule.

That a ball is easier to throw if under-inflated is an over inflated opinion! It may be easier to grip if not rock solid inflated, but too under- inflated would be even worse.

I will refrain from saying something like 'if you disagree with me, you have never picked up a football in your life'

The real question should be, why was there a ne pat employee nicknamed the "deflator"?

Yeah, Hernandez murdered someone, but he didn't use all the bullets....

ne's history nailed them here. It's worse than southern cal being on probation for major violations....

This is the NFL and the pats f'd up royally. brady's agent should stfu as should kraft.

Another brilliant post. Belichick has 6 Super Bowl rings and Brady has 4. Again read more and post less.

Would you care to include the record setting league penalties in your detailed analysis? Apparently, you struggle with sordid cheating facts which are part of their legacy. Spygate professionally defines hoody..... As for his personality, he is schmuck. Brady's brazen cheating and lack of cooperation throughout the investigation tells everyone all they need to know.....

cgvr, a fraud on the same level as Mo1d! "lack of cooperation throughout the investigation tells everyone all they need to know.....", yet you two frauds defend Winston as he refused to cooperate on any level!

Where did I defend Winston? As far as I know he cooperated fully with all the investigators. Is he a jackass? Of course he is... is he 16 million richer? Yep, where is that pointed?
Aren't you the one piping off multiple times per hour about fsu's cheating? Are the patriots spygate/deflategate acceptable forms of cheating? You really are a bore. I can't figure out what is driving your hate for Notre Dame and this board. Actually, it is probably jealousy because ND is everything you're not and you hate that. You're like the incessant drunk/senseless michigan fan that won't shut up at a game.

perse, why is it that numerous HOF QBs and others who played a long time say it is easier to grip and throw a slightly underinflated ball? Clearly they know what they are talking about and you don't (nothing new there)

Why would BB and company cheat if it does not give them an edge? The Ravens game the week before was razor close- just maybe that gave Tom enough of an edge - hard to argue otherwise.

and its no surprise that those with little moral charactor say cheating does not matter.

I think the NFL only wants to give Tom Shady a 2 game suspension. They set it at 4 games thinking there would be an appeal.
