Blue & Gold Illustrated is able to confirm that Notre Dame has extended a scholarship offer to Columbus (Ohio) DeSales three-star cornerback Austin Andrews.
Andrews, who committed to Michigan State on Tuesday, was visited by the Notre Dame coaching staff earlier in the spring evaluation period.
"We talked on the phone after school and he said he liked my film and stuff, and he just wanted to ask me about my speed. [An] offer should be coming soon," Austin said on April 28 when asked about Irish recruiting coordinator Mike Elston.
The 6-0, 178-pound cornerback is ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 52 cornerback in the country and the No. 25 prospect in Ohio for the class of 2016.
