Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco four-star offensive tackle Wyatt Davis has picked up an offer from Notre Dame.
Davis, who is regarded as one of the top linemen on the West Coast for the class of 2017, told Blue & Gold Illustrated this past weekend at the Rivals Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour, that he was hoping Notre Dame would offer him a scholarship. That bid came on Wednesday.
"Notre Dame was at our college preview day back in May, and with NCAA rules I couldn't talk to them, but they talked to my coach, and they were saying they were super interested," Davis said. "I have always been interested in Notre Dame. I kind of just have just wanted to get out there and visit -- so this is big."
Davis' father played football at Missouri, but he said the two are already looking to visit South Bend this summer after speaking with Irish assistant coach Mike Denbrock.
"He just seems like a down to earth guy," Davis said.
The 6-5, 300-pound Davis also holds scholarship offers from Alabama, USC, UCLA, Florida, Nebraska, Miami and Michigan.
