Hopefully they tweak/add features such as font color, default font size and personalize the screen to be more user friendly. these types of options are especially important to those who have any visual impairment.

Perse,

Back when I was a college professor, we had a committee set up to decide on the color of new "black boards" … and we brought in a number of students who had various kinds of visual impairments and the favored color scheme of most of them was White chalk on BLACK boards. Of course, there were others with different kinds of problems and they preferred things like yellow chalk on green boards, etc, etc [ I even had a student who wanted me to print my exams in purple on pink paper]. So the university went with the majority and ordered black boards. That was long ago, and things have changed since.

My point is … it would be nice of one could change the background and type color to his/her own needs … not necessarily the colors the poster posted in.

I appreciate that comment; I think the web designers would easily incorporate such home page/default personalization capabilities; but the site owners must 1st be made aware of the need; and be convinced it is something that is important enough to request.

BTW: the old site had font size options.

Sure, the old site had font options, but it was also completely different forum software.

If this feature is something you truly want, you might be better served asking the XenForo development team to add it to their forum software; rather than asking one of their customers (Rivals) to hack it in and potentially void any support agreement they might have.

well I would think B&G pays the bill;the agreement probably has maintenence and other provisions for such requests. I also think the Software owners probably already have that capability but it was just not an option chosen. Like you I have done some checking on the authors (kudos to you for taking that time).
let's see what the response is.
JMO.

Just so I can say I asked Pers.

Are you asking for the ability to change the size / color of the default. Or are you asking for there to be just the option of doing this?

I don't remember on the old site having the ability to default your text font / size / color to anything besides the standard.

The only difference I see on this site, is that you can't make the text as large as the previous site. You still have size options, you still have color options, and you still have font options. Not being 'that guy', just wondering.

Personally, I am glad the default is a standard font/size. It's much better for readability. It's bad enough the content of many posts seem like they were written by 3rd graders. We don't want the overall appearence of the board to be that of a 3rd graders website.

Go Irish!

Meanwhile, on my version of the site...

Please note, the default font settings I have there are just a mock-up. I don't have it fully implemented in my greasemonkey script. Finishing up that end will take a lot more work.

I'm on Firefox in Linux Mint. I wrote a greasemonkey script to change up the forum style with a bunch of custom CSS alterations.

You should see what I did to ESPN's new format. :)

well done; I also use Linux; had mint but switched to Ubuntu; no reason just to do it.
Did you notice the new forum will not allow TOR sign in (old one did); you can get on the main site but not forums. You are right in last post, about the psycho's here, TOR would be a safe choice.

Appreciate your reply. Have a great day.

I hope you're joking, I thought you knew about that and wanted to set a default preference.

Nice. Have you seen this extension someone came up for Chrome?

pride wants me to say that; but yup; looked for it and my eyes just kept missing it. And that default option would be even better; but at least there is this. Why the heck didn't someone tell me or try to post with the large font? my bad!!!!!

Pers, another option if you'd like for all of the text to appear larger, is CTRL + to make your screen zoom in. Then use CTRL 0 to return to the normal setting on other sites.
