Matt Ryan has to step his game up if we are going to make a title run. Shooting 3 balls alone wont cut it. Ryan can be a similar player as Pat Connaughton if he would drive to the hoop and post up once in a while. We know he can shoot the 3 ball but we need more performance inside the paint. He has the size but does he have the heart? Going down low once in a while keeps the defense honest.

My mantra is Ryan and Beachem. I have been repeating that for awhile. All the other players in the rotation have done that except for them.
 
This is my point in the OP. Other guys have to step up. Ryan was a highly rated player and he barely plays because he lacks some instincts. Beachem struggling in some of the big games is a mystery.
 
So far in this game, basically all of ND's scoring is coming from 3 guys ... Colson, Vasturia and Farrell.

Man......Connaughton was an absolute stud. Jack of all trades, tough as hell, great leader. NBA player. Will be tough for Ryan to fill those shoes, but if he can come close, we'd be a really tough out come March (or maybe April)!

Of ND's 3 sophomores (Ryan, Burns and Pfluegger), it looks like Pfluegger has the upper hand now ... he defends relatively well, handles the ball well and makes timely shots.

Ryan isn't as athletic.
 
Brey is very complimentary of his players ... and they certainly respond to his coaching. Nice start to the ACC schedule playing solid D!

Brey wins a lot of games which no one can deny. But to win championships more players have to be developed. More than 3 players are going to have to be positive contributors if we want to win the ACC and go past the elite 8. I realize every team has its role players but some guys need to develop experience and confidence which can be done in the first half or beginning of the 2nd half.
 
Ask the moron for the Atkins/Grant article....where he tries to tell posters that the article proves Brey doesn't coach the team. He actually expects people to believe that you can win an ACC title, go to 2 consecutive Elite 8's, beat UNC, Duke and Louisville multiple times...on the road as well...and the coach does nothing....the dude is a tool! But..."Lots of people agree with me!" Actually none...

And during his senior year he co-coached ND into the Elite 8....Jerian Grant was the other co-coach that came within a possession of beating UK and getting to the FF!

If you aren't making up bullshit about the basketball coach you are trying to convince posters that you know more than the football coach. If you aren't crying about him you are bitching about the AD...and the only reason you aren't bitching now about Brey is cuz they are winning. Agreed. Except the biggest troll on here, ND78, likes to continually offer nothing to this board. Everyone on here but one part-time poster knows Brey is a damn good coach. The funniest thing is that the instigator is too blind to see the football program is the one without a real coach.

I expected us to be a 20 assist, 10 or less TOs, 3 point shooting team with some defensive strategic stops. Last night we had 6 assists, shot 12 treys and held them to under 40% shooting. I was impressed that we could win that way. I think these are some high IQ guys who can implement a number of different game plans. I do think we lack great athletes.

13-2 plus 2-0 in the ACC. A big win over a no. 9 team.

"The only reason they got to the Elite * is because they got an easy draw, Brey's coaching had nothing to do with it, all he is is a cheerleader.

Should I go on?....all you are is a barstool ballbuster....the only hardwood you have ever been on is when your fat ass hits the barstool at Chico's...it's just a matter of time, you will be crying and bitching.
