This countdown list on various topics is held on ESPN Wednesday nights, and this is the first time I saw this one. This is defined as "results seldom, if ever, meeting the hype or expectations," things that get overblown or something whose time has passed. Some of the names, teams or events included Joe Namath, the Atlanta Braves from 1991-2005, the NBA Slam Dunk contest or the Indy 500.

The top 5 were:
5. Notre Dame football
4. Eric Lindros
3. Keyshawn Johnson
2 The Heisman
1. Anna Kournikova

Although ND is No. 1 in all-time winning percentage and second only to Alabama in AP national titles, the last 22 years, I suppose, have made it an easy object of ridicule, especially with only two top 10 finishes and 0-7 record in major bowls while losing by about 20 points each time. It's more about the current generation than the entire body of work.
