Some of the names, teams or events included Joe Namath, the Atlanta Braves from 1991-2005, the NBA Slam Dunk contest or the Indy 500.

Although ND is No. 1 in all-time winning percentage and second only to Alabama in AP national titles, the last 22 years, I suppose, have made it an easy object of ridicule, especially with only two top 10 finishes and 0-7 record in major bowls while losing by about 20 points each time. It's more about the current generation than the entire body of work.
