I'm a bit worried without a conference game that we're out when all is said and done. We can't play that bad.

I just thank God every day he did not make me a crazy person. Oh....and MY my parents too.

And with reminders all around I will NEVER stop.

No one is going to come out dominate every game. But this game was dominated by ND. But Wake is well coached, and apparently very familiar with Elko's scheme. But
3 of their scores were after the game was well in hand.

yeah we were up 48-23. we're getting greedy when we're fretting over that

It would really suck if ND got dropped out because of this. I doubt the committee will though, because that's what they're paid for. If we don't make it we will just be even more fired up for next year. We still have Stanford and Miami too, so if we drop out (which I don't think we will) we'll also be able to get back in.

ND won without drama. Yeah WF scored 37 and kept it respectable. Even though I was " worried" the game was never in doubt. It was a convincing win.

Clemson was in a dog fight and wound up winning against a team ND beat going away. Oklahoma won a " flag football" game. Out of those three games , ND looked the better of the 3. In my opinion they will stay at 3 , no one will jump them.

I guessing WF didn't get worn out in the 4th Quarter like previous opponents. They looked very strong till the final gun. BK singled out the defense, missed tackles, dropped passes and a focus issue in his post game presser. BK said this, not me. I'm just relaying the message but it was apparent that he is on to something.

  1. Bama (if they win)
  2. Georgia
  3. ND (only loss Ga, killed USC, MSU - both may be top 12 - and NCst.
  4. Oklahoma (big wins OSU & OKst (both will be ranked lower than MSU and USC (if they win.)
  5. Clemson (Syracuse loss!, barely beat NCst & Wake Forest same score as ND.
  6. Wisconsin
  7. Miami (if they win tonight)
  8. TCU (struggled vs Texas, )
MSU is the second big ten team. (Top 12)
USC moves close to the top ten with a win tonight. (Top 15)

I still like our chances. Disappointed in our defense today. Elko was out-coached. No pressure up front. No answer in the second half (which has been his hallmark.)

That said, Kelly never panicked. Won the game without Josh and with WImbush sitting a lot of the 2nd half. I still believe we belong in the top four but even if we slip to five we will be back in next week with a win vs. a victorious (tonight) Miami team.

Who (that matters) outperformed us today? Please tell me. We are the most angst ridden bunch of fans in college football. If we win the next three games we are a lock for the playoff. If we then win two more we are National Champions. Winning is all that matters for the rest of this season.

Did any of you chicken littles actually watch the game? It was nowhere near as close as the final score. It was over at half or early third quarter. Enough already.
BK was not happy about the missed tackles, lack of focus, dropped passes, and went on to say that every person on the defense is guilty. Is he a chicken little? Of course he is happy with the win but knows that this cannot snowball. At one point, the WF TE was all alone in the end zone for the TD. Our HC knows damn well about today's issues and there were issues. WF moved the ball in the second half against our starters at will and Elko had no answer. BK was not a happy camper about the way they performed despite the good QB play out of WF. This was the HC talking. Not a bunch of message board crybabies.

OK has two big wins? You mean after Iowa cremated OSU, that is still considered a big win? Clemson just struggled against a team we crushed. Relax. If the Irish win out, they are in. Of course they have to beat a Miami team that looked great tonight and Navy and Stanford. Not an easy task but doable. Let's enjoy the ride.

Wisconsin has yet to play a team that has been ranked in ANY AP poll this season. Their biggest win to date is a 9 pt home victory over a Northwestern team that is 6-3 after 3 straight OT wins and was blown out by Duke. UCF chuckles a little bit when looking at the Badgers' current resume.

Clemson jumps us. Oklahoma maybe. Wisconsin could as well.
No. Clemson does not jump us.

See Syracuse loss.

OU will not jump us. You can't reward a team that gives up a half a hundred.

Miami though might be sitting there at number 5 now. Wisconsin seven. OU comes in at six.

Your joking right? No way is this a serious post! ND benched their starting QB to start the 4th. ND could have hung 70 up today. Almost 800 total yards! Clemson struggled today against a team ND dominated from start to finish. ND called the dogs off at the beginning of the 4th. Game was never in question. Rest easy, ND is still #3!

Nope, you are not an Irish fan! Your just trying to stir the pot. Goodbye you loser. You must have no life if what you do for fun is go on message boards pretending to be a fan. Go do some volunteer work at the local mission. Because as of right now, your a waste of life.

Nothing good comes from prevent defense all second half.
And....
Wake showed something ND hadn't dealt with yet this year.....
Exclusively Wake used a rolling pocket on every single long pass play. If it wasn't a quick slant they called the play to be a rolling pocket immediately. ND could never get serious pressure on the QB.

and duuuu lack goes over the edge in 3....2...1.... Just one question, is it time to fire Kelly like you were begging for last year?

It's the final score that looks bad. That's on the coaches.
Yes FIRE THEM ALLLL!!!!! BTW, anyone who follows college football knows the playoff committee looks at each playoff team game in depth. This is not the coaches or AP poll where they just look at the final score. Now back off from the edge, or jump I could really care less.

complete nonsense. Irish maintain #3. By the way, Alabama played poorly, Clemson was in a battle, Georgia had some good fortune and did not play well either.

There is a perception that Clemson has the potential to play elite defense. Clemson has that kind of talent.
The reality is Clemson has not played consistently excellent D this season.

Lol. Clemson wins by 1 over a team we destroyed and should jump us lol. Paranoid. Oklahoma gave up way too many points to jump anyone. ND sat a lot of guys for an entire quarter. The committee knows that. No change this week. Beat Miami.

IT was the kind of game during the past 20 years we would (sometimes) snatch from the jaws of victory.

Think about it. Our defense wasn't playing as good as it has all season. Our offense lost its best 2 playmakers (BW for a quarter or so) yet we still win by three touchdowns (they get one with a minute left to make it look respectable.)

In the old days -- a pick would have been thrown, or there would be a fumble or a punt return and suddenly... It is a one possession game.

The game was never in doubt. Never. I was more angry about style points for the BCS! And a little disappointed that our defense had trouble stopping them in the second half (we are NOT Ok or Ok St. -- flag football.)

What a difference a year makes. Beat the convicts! (Can we still say that?)

My conviction is that a major factor in the results is that the players physical conditioning has enabled them to execute properly when they diagnose a play developing. In the past seasons, regardless of what they saw and wanted to do they just could not execute physically. Additionally the improvement in conditioning has drastically cut down on injuries; specifically serious injuries. Balis is the team MVP.

Couple of things. While I see no reason for us to jump you guys its kind of funny how you say you played the common opponents much better than we did.
You played NC State at home we played on the road. That makes a difference. We both played Wake at home. Wake scored ZERO points against our starters. We began to pull starters late in the third when it was apparent that Wake was not going to score. The only points they scored were against our third team defense. We could have ran the score up like you did but made the choice not too. I agree that the Syracuse game is a black mark on our record but we are a bit better than you guys seem to think we are.

Also no way OU should jump anyone after giving up half a hundred.
