Any thoughts on the men's team this season? Just watching them for the first time tonight against the Fighting Illini. I see that they have lost twice already, to Monmouth and Alabama.

Should be a middle of the road ACC team - those were two close games that they lost.
I agree with 1596, should be middle of the pack and if the 3 point shots fall may pull an upset or two. Free throw shooting is what is killing them late in games so far. Looks like DJ, ZA, and SV are the main guys. I am hoping that VJB can step up this year. He looks like he could be a slasher, pull up kind of player.
Our magical season was last year. Senior laden team with Grant and Pat. Last year was a NC type of team minus the deep bench. I have a feeling it will be a long time until that happens again. Man I enjoyed the talent last year...
Simple. ND is 2-0 against the Big Ten and 4-0 over the last year against the most arrogant conference in the land, so that makes me smile. Brey has no bench to work with. If they can hang around .500 in ACC play they'll be able to sneak in the big dance.
Same here. I wanted a final four run in the worst way. The committee screwed them when they put them in Kentucky's region. That was on purpose, but if ND hits three late FT's in that elite 8 game they would've advanced. Bittersweet for sure.

I think they are pretty good but lost 2 games they should have won. Zack makes his 2 free throws and they beat Bama it's as easy as that. Monmouth ? Cmon . Gotta beat them . Then again everywhere we look someone gets knocked off by a mid- major. it's the norm now. The defense seems weak though. They needed to go to a zone to beat Ilinois and I think that was smart. Bonzie and Zack do rebound well. IMO the X- Factor is Beachum . If he is a lights out shooter they will win a lot of games. The bench will never never ever be deep with Brey. He does not like to take guys out. Farell is tough but gets way too many minutes. I would like to see Phugler get some minutes too. Geban at 6-10 should see some action too. . these 2 guys need some game experience it's a long season.
