I'd just like to address something I'm hearing a lot of this past week. I've heard numerous college football analyst say they believe Bama was clearly better then Ole Miss even though the Rebels beat the Tide. Let me be clear, I do think Bama is a much better team then the Rebels, but the double standard is obvious.
I've heard them (media) state ad nauseum that though Bama lost, they outgained Ole Miss, and even being minus 4 in TOs they still had a chance to win down to the end of the game, all true.
However, ND is getting a little love for their quality loss but none of them are saying ND was minus 3, and outgained Clemson by nearly 150 yards and had a chance to tie or win. Why?
I'm not saying ND is better then Bama, I'm just pointing out the obvious double standard. ND nearly pulled it out or had a chance to go to OT on the last play, Bama did not. ND did this at #1 Clemson, Bama played at home against (a soon to be unranked Ole Miss). I think there should be just as much praise for ND in this manner as Bama.
Also, LSU is good but very one dimensional, they were a terrible match up for Bama. Teams, like Ole Miss, OSU, Clemson, ND, etc.. have better chances because these are the type of team Bama is more likely to struggle with, two dimensional teams with mobile QBs.
Thoughts?
