I am a ND Football fan and we suck
In fact, we’ve sucked for a long time but I am here to get help
I’ve been suck Free for 12 hours
Baby steps
I am worried that this Saturday when USC comes to town I may go off the wagon and get sucked into sucking again

I don’t want to suck
But there are people at ND Administration who live for the suck and I get pulled in

(Mild applause from the room and some encouragement One guy said to root for Georgia to avoid the suck. A girl said she still gets to suck but has switched to the Carolina game cocks and finds she at least has purpose )

FACT: We haven’t sucked for a long time, Kelly’s last five years were very good.

Kelly also had us vying for three National Championships in 10 years, 2012-2021.

Get your facts right prior to making absurd statements !

Freeman had ample time to look for another OC and that’s not an assumption that’s comical.

Having attended ND, along with others, we have a perspective that’s not available to those who didn’t attend ND. It’s akin to the different perspectives on marriage between a guy who has been married for 30 years and a guy who’s never been married

Really? Of all the threads you can pick apart with your insulting perjorative put- downs, you select a tongue in cheek post meant to add some levity to a very bleak situation

Who is clueless?
Now I can successfully refute everything you said, starting with “we have sucked for. Long time”. If making it to one champ game and 2 playoffs in 33 years and getting blown out n embarrassed in those appearances qualifies as not sucking, then you have low expectations for a once proud program. We won like 2 second tier bowl games in that span.
Your standard is not commensurate with that of our blessed mother and she is upset with you for thinking fool’s gold is 24 carat

Of the roughly 130 Division I teams how many can claim vying for the NC three times in a ten year period ?

How many times did Duke, Stanford, Rice, Northwestern, Cal and other elite academic institutions vie for the NC ?

You want perfection and perfection is the enemy of very good and not easily attained.

When Kelly jumped ship I advocated for an interim coach for 2022, but many, if not most on this site jumped on the MF bandwagon. Well how does that look now ?

As 4-4-3 has stated many times, we have inherent, systemic disadvantages that make perfection almost impossible to achieve

I do have some inside perspective on the football program
I don‘t look down on anyone, I just disagree with their opinions.
Case in point, Golson and BGI insisted that ND was “loaded with NFL talent at EVERY position”. Their proclamation was beyond foolish, it was ignorant and demanded challenge.
When they doubled down and insisted that they were right, I was the only one who challenged them. When someone posts an absurd opinion, should it be accepted as fact or challenged ? I prefer the challenge route if you want this to be a credible forum !

Lastly, ND alums tend to have differing opinions from non-alums when it comes to maintaining academic standards and joining a conference.

I reference my analogy regarding marriage, it’s difficult to understand the dynamics if you’ve never been married for a number of years.

Ditto with attending ND, it’s not a slight, it’s just reality because we have a little more of ourselves invested in ND

The University is not a priority of mine the football program is a pastime i enjoy.
I went to a Jesuit school through my entire youth, and from what I see the University dose a pretty good job of tarnishing itself from its Catholic principles
