If SC drops ND our presence in the west/southwest falls off a cliff (3 games in the next 10 years). Possible solution: Why not schedule home and home games using AT&T (Dallas/Ft Worth) and Allegiant (LV) for the away games? Smaller venue TCU & SMU are a few minutes from AT&T; most of the rest of the B12 schools are near Vegas. BTW, SoFi in LA sucks, I would avoid it.

Announced ND road game locations:

7-FL; 5-NC; 4-PA,SC; 3-MA,IN; 2-CA,NY,MI,VA,KY,MD; 1-AR,WI,TX,AL,GA

23-South, 11-East/NE, 6-Midwest, 3-West/SW

Allegiant Stadium is an outstanding venue for football. Last time we played BYU there, I saw thousands of Irish fans enjoying the strip and old downtown days before the game. But I agree, if USC does in fact let our series die, I would love to see us use Allegiant for the so called shamrock games against the likes of Washington and Utah and Oregon, etc…. Great west exposure and a great entertainment draw for ND fans.

I do not believe USC will drop Notre Dame.

It feels like ND needs this game more than SC does, thus, I can see SC playing hardball for ideal terms if the series continues. Based on the local Notre Dame media chatter through their podcasts it seems like there's a good chance this series might end. Unbelievable! I am a fan of ND (born & raised in LA) as a result of the importance of this game. My family was originally die hard USC fans until the Lou Holtz era and all of the men in my family jumped to ND (which is how I ultimately became a fan myself). It would be super unfortunate to see this series go. USC will be fine either way, they have more than enough juggernauts/modern powers/& blue bloods in the BIG10 to keep their schedule competitive at the highest level.

From a strategic standpoint, I don't like the corner ND boxed themself into with this ACC deal. It's looking worse and worse for ND strictly related to football with all of the conference consolidation going on and how noncompetitive the majority of the ACC has become in football (im not sure how much or how little the other sports are benefiting from this deal).

Probably the same reason that nobody scheduled home & homes with those schools over the 30 years that they were completely available. The 'recruiting footprint' or whatever you call it doesn't change that much.

We don't need this game more than SC

It's a shame but with USC playing 3 Midwest games a year, and perhaps a "what can you do for me today" approach, I think the series is in danger. The game (at this moment) probably means a little more to us. But we will be fine. Biggest loser=college football.

That will certainly have a negative impact on recruiting

Sure we do. It's just that neither school 'needs' the SC game to be successful. Especially in the bloated playoff era. Any helmet school that posts a good W-L gets a playoff berth.
This is a really good point and hopefully they dont tinker with the playoff formula too much because under the current playoff system its all upside for ND beating up on bottom feeding ACC teams on a relatively easy path to the playoff.

If the playoff committee wises up and starts leaning more heavily on "best 12" and incorporating "schedule quality" more heavily into the process ND could be in trouble quick with a single regular season loss and a schedule lacking the firepower needed to work their way back into the playoff picture.

You mean like playing Clemson Bama Texas Miami Michigan Florida FSU Texas am?

We always play a good schedule. We will not be in trouble at any point

Let me know if you want a futures bet about a 1-loss ND team that gets excluded from the playoff ala 2021. I will lay generous odds.

Everybody wants to play nd. Once again, you are so wrong. West coast usc has no feathers or identity in big 10 they need our game big time for profile
