ND/ACC common law marriage

Does this continue as is....or either A. an amicable breakup...or B. We go to the alter? I've been thinking over the ACC opposition on the schedule ( though the results aren't so pleasant) and I'm wondering where this is all going?

IMO, it stays like it is until there is a move to super-conferences who control their own exclusive playoff. Then we are in the ACC as a full member. While it makes for great theatre, ND is not going to make long range major decisions based upon short term results.

Two 3-9 seasons and ND will lose leverage and will be forcing themselves into a conf. That is why Kelly needs to go this year.

I think we ought to become full members of the ACC. Tough to admit that, but CFB is passing ND by, and it's inevitable. These recruits, these kids have zero knowledge of irvinterest in ND's storied past, they weren't even born. We should give the kids something to play for throughout the season; Natty, conference championship's. And the way the CFB playoff is, we are gonna need that 13th game. It's gonna happen anyway, and it probably should happen

Not sure why CFB didn't pass ND by last year, but is doing so this year. BTW, we wouldn't be competing for an ACC title this season.

Independence is the only thing this football program has going for it right now. Voluntarily giving that edge away would be idiocy. A new coach and smart scheduling will bring this program back.

While I don't disagree with you most tines this I do loudly.

These kids today want two things.
In this order.

The NFL....

a national title.

The only teams who celebrate being good in conference play are ultimately outside looking in come national title time of year.

This is not days of yore when the ignorance of the big ten and pac 10 were locked into the rose bowl no matter what and acted like the national title was secondary to conference title.

If you are going to declare being elite or striving for being elite...you have but one ultimate goal.
