Hard to get excited about this one. We have a lame-duck defensive coordinator and a defense that will require a complete overhaul after the season. Maybe we get our first sack though! The Bronx cheers will be deafening.
If you step away and think about it, we lost to a blue blood on their home field in front of their biggest crowd in history in double overtime, and we lost by 8 to a team that was in the playoff last year and has lost 5 games in three seasons. While this may seem like our darkest hour to us, someone on the outside may not see all the doom and gloom that we do.
On the other hand, I did almost puke in my mouth when I woke up yesterday morning and saw that Texas/Cal score. That one stung.
Texas has been upgraded to okay but I don't see them being ranked in the top 15 at the end of the year. Too soon to know if Sparty is any good.
Great post. Totally agree. ND will win 9-10 games this year. The negative, "mental midgets" have all hit the panic button. I and other sensible fans have not.
You are in a dream world guy. I'm not a mental midget and we will lose to Stanford and U$C. That makes us 8 and 4 at BEST.
I think we beat Stanford at home. BK will make the changes, get this thing on track and ND will be 4-2, waiting for the Cardinal.....
duke stinks this year as they lost to a bad rebuilding wake forest team. our irish offense should put 35 plus on them but the problem will be our defense not giving up a ton of points. I think our irish win though even if the defense looks bad again. I already said in another thread that the next three opponents really stink and that our irish should be 4-2 going into the Stanford night game
Thats what some were saying about the MSU game.
I wouldn't bet on it. With BVG's defense ... this could be a nail biter, but the Irish should win. 49 - 45.

This is Duke football, not basketball. If ND can't win by 30 points, heads should roll. As bad as BVG's D calls has been, ND speed and talent should over come any of BVG short comings. I don't expect another lost until the Stanford game where BVG will do his best to make McCaffrey look like the next Barry Sanders. The Vegas line would be who would get more yards, ND offense or McCaffrey.
relief for the defense; Duke's offense is crippled by injury. Lost the starting QB and at Duke, you really only have 1 (at best). The game should resemble the Nevada game.
