So frustrated that ND dropped wrestling. Watching the NCAAs now on ESPNU and really wish we had some ND kids to pull for. I realize ND would have to add two sports - both wrestling and the women's counterpart sport to be compliant with Title 9, but is there another underlying reason that I am not aware as to why they dropped it?

i couldn't agree more especially since alot of the kids ND recruits have an excellent Wrestling background

Love wrestling. So much respect for those guys. Some of the baddest dudes around. I am all about gender equality, but it's an inequality to add a women's team and drop such an elite sport. Equity in this case punishes these elite athletes. Basically every high school in the nation has wrestling and they don't have it at ND. No knock on some of the other less popular sports at ND, but wrestling should never have been cut. There are some sports at ND that most other colleges do not have. Not sure why ND always has to try and be different. Sometimes it's to their own detriment. Many amazing student athletes lost because of that bonehead move. I don't blame Title 9. I blame the idiot athletic director and Lou Holtz, who helped push it out so his fourth string punter could get a scholarship.

I have to take my wife to see Blake Shelton tonight, but I will be recording the championship rounds
Its simple really. Add a Women's Hockey Team...they have a great rink already and women's hockey is on the rise.
