Was watching MD beat OSU for this year's NCAA Championship ... and thinking ... ND beat both of those schools during the regular season.

We were seemingly heading towards a nice season until the injury bug hit us.

Every year the team disappoints in the tourney. I think it's inexcusable that NDLax doesn't have a national title by now. It's the only major men's sport on campus that has a chance at brining one home.

Denver blew them out of the water. This team has a real problem dealing with playoff pressure.

Seems like this year's team didn't have depth. When Perkovic and Garnsey were hurt, the offense really suffered, and without Koshansky the defense just was't the same.

Also, we didn't have a real reliable face-off man. We shuttled between Finley and Travisano, both were okay, but up against a really good face-off man we were in trouble.

We're losing a good number of seniors this year, just wonder what the future holds for us.

My son plays for a very good DI lax program . The parity in the sport is unlike any other. It is really a great game and ND will always be a contender because they will continue to draw excellent players . injuries effect all teams but make no mistake about by seasons end this team did not deserve the #4 seed at all

I'm not so sure that losing 21 faceoffs in a row has anything to do with not handling pressure.

Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. 16-4 isn't just a face of issue. Our biggest loss prior to that game was by 4 points, and 3 of our 6 losses were by 1 goal.

We went 5-19 on the dot against Denver in the regular season and still hung in to lose 11-10. We had a worse face off percentage (yikes!) in the playoffs (2-21) and lost 16-4.

Granted, that Denver FOGO is a monster (.744,) but we were much better defensively in the regular season game. We don't have a single player with a face off percentage over .500 - team face off percentage for the season was .436. (Granted, these stats are post 2-21 shellacking.)

Regardless, step back from the game and look at the last decade - this team has repeatedly disappointed in the post season.

We were below .500 on face offs for the season BEFORE the Denver game. That's an issue for any team that has national championship aspirations. Possessions are gold against this level of opponent.

Its very disappointing that we haven't broken through and won an NC in LAX. Especially in some years where we looked like the best team. But once we got to April this year we didn't look the part.

Agreed.
