I'd take a John Madden clone to announce the games. Just the right combination of humor, barstool slang and in depth knowledge calling plays....and translated for all ages. He was an original and a natural....and there aren't many of those to go around.

Anyway, I thought Mike Mayock was fantastic. I learned something new about the team, game, or players on the roster after the completion of nearly every one of his broadcasts.

And I always liked Hammond & Hayden more than other ND fans
