IIO -- you had me scared in that earlier post. Don't you agree this sets the stage for Bars to return? Our 2018 O-line just kept two NFL players -- thanks to McQ and Nelson for setting the "TEAM" bar so high! We won't be 2017 but we'll be damn good again. What do you project as our starting line next year? I think Alize and EQ will be back too.

Notre Dame red-shirt junior center Sam Mustipher declared following Wednesday’s practice his full intention to return to the Irish for the 2018 season.

“I’ll be back…without a doubt,” said Mustipher, who has started the last 20 games for the Irish.

Asked if there was anything that would alter his thinking about using his final year of eligibility at Notre Dame next year, Mustipher responded: “No, not at all. I love these guys, I love this team. I’ll be back here next year.”

What Round do you think he would be drafted this year? I think seeing Mc coming back, and how much fun they are having convinced him.
So tell me if i'm off here on the O-Line for next year?

LT- Eichenberg
LG- Lugg
C- Mustipher
RG- Hainsey
RT- Kraemer

You forgot Bars? Anyone see Hainsey going to LT or if Eichenbeg is there perhaps Hainsey at LG? (He is supposed to be a great pass blocker.)

I think Kramer goes to left guard, Hainsey stays at right tackle, and Bars at right guard if he returns, and Lugg at RG if Bars goes pro.

Thanks Telx -- is this the way you see it? Recruitniks: Anyone think Petit Frere (trending up) or Cade Mays (long shot) could compete for a starting spot. This looks like a very solid group.

LT-Eichenberg (Jr./So.)
LG-Kramer (Jr./So.)
C- Mustipher (Gr./Gr.)
RG-Bars (Gr./Gr.)
RT-Hainsey (So./So.)

That would be three starters with three years of eligibility. Love what Harry is doing with our offensive line! Banks, Lugg are both high potential guys with offers from Alabama (Lugg) and pretty much everybody else!

I think the above post will be the guys, who plays where may vary a little. and even if we get NPF, i dont think he'd start. May be a situation like Hainsey where he sees some action but isnt the starter.

This is big news for ND. Sam will be a captain next year and the anchor on the line. If Bars returns (he should) and Kraemer flips to LG to replace Nelson, that 4 man interior is still going to be excellent, especially in the running game. Hainsey is best suited to play guard or center, but will likely stay out on the edge with his experience. It'll be nice to see him up over 300lbs and much stronger than he is now. Eichenberg likely takes over at LT and like Hainsey needs to continue to get stronger. The off season strength and conditioning program is going to be huge for those two and Josh Lugg, who should be the 3rd tackle.

I expect ND to attach Brock Wright, Nick Weishar or Cole Kmet a little bit more next year to help those tackles out in passing situations.

Kraemer LT
Bars LG
Mustipher C
Lugg RG
Hainsey RT

Eichenberg first rotation in for Kraemer, Lugg, or Hainsey

That's my prognostication, depth is a good thing so if any OL breaks in at any of the spots then I'm happy. Losing McGlinchey and Nelson will certainly adjust run blocking schemes and tendencies.

Regarding Adams. If its solely stats based I can't see him improving his stock. He wont have the experienced o line. Talented but inexperienced compared to this year. If he is motivated by a national title or a degree who knows.

RBs have the shortest careers and because of that they aren't drafted as high, right? I expect him to be taken in the second round which is damn good. He has done everything we have asked of him and more. Class act. Go get the money. And don't think for a minute that his mother is going to let him not get a sheepskin from ND. (He will be back... in the classroom.)

Tillery: do you think he is kicking himself for insisting on playing Dline? Can you imagine this offense with Tillery as LT and McGlinch in his natural RT position? We'd have three lineman drafted in the first round. I'm hearing Tillery in the 4th-6th... so maybe he will stick around. But probably too late to switch (we are much deeper at D-line these days.)

Never say 'no chance' even if seems unlikely. He may have his sights set on a ND degree or the Heisman or something we don't see.

He may win the Heisman this year. His draft stock will never be higher. His offensive line will take a step back. He puts more work on his body and limits
Jerry Tillery will be playing on OL next year. Prepare himself

I know. It's just that he is my favorite player on the team. I'll be happy for him either way.

I do think Tillery would have been our starting LT this year. He is so much more valuable to us as a 1/3T though. He is the big dawg in the middle. Who else could have done that with Cage injured?

I would expect Adams to go, but you never know these kids motivations. Andrew Luck stayed an extra year at Stanford. Adams may decide he wants to be ND's all time leading rusher.

I think Adams story is great on and off the field, I really think he would like to take care of his mother and sign a NFL contract after this year, can't blame him but hope i am wrong.

I just can't see Tillery being such a prospect at LT that he would start over Kipers number one ranked tackle in the draft in mcglinchey. I would think kelly would not gamble with a frosh and red shirt frosh at RT just because thin on d line.
