Just wanted to drop a quick update on the men's lacrosse team, they're having a tremendous season.
The squad is 8-1 on the season and ranked No. 1 in the country, dropping only one loss at then No. 4 Denver 11-10 in overtime on March 7.In their most recent contest, the Irish faced then No. 15 Marquette, the sixth straight ranked opponent ND has faced. The Irish went 5-1 over that stretch.ND has four players who are credited with over 20 points through this point of the year. Junior Matt Kavanagh leads the team with 39 points, via 17 goals and 22 assists (which also leads the team). Freshman Mikey Wynne (28 points) actually leads the team in goals (26). Senior Colon Doyle (29 points) and sophomore Sergio Perkovic (23 points) are the other two with 20+ on the season.
The final regular season home game is vs. UNC on April 18, with a scheduled start time of 4 p.m. ET. The Irish will play in the ACC tournament in Chester, Pa., beginning on April 24-26, and they conclude their regular season at Army on May 2.
