I guess FL was hit with a lot of injuries this year. They have a LH QB this year also.

I agree even though I had not thought of him. Seems he would make a lot of sense for Chip to head to UF.
Isn't FL's AD the same guy that was at MS St.? If I'm right, that would tend to make Mullen a front runner IMO. However, Chip Kelly is likely a front runner too. Just speculation on my part. FL, TN, and possibly AR might all be looking for coaches from the SEC. TX A&M looked horrible too. Wonder if they are looking?
As a UCF guy, I keep hoping we somehow sidestep losing Frost for a few more years. With UF opening, it's gonna be tough.
Unless he doesn't want to coach at Nebraska, Florida, Tennessee, or any other job that opens up this year (A&M?, UCLA?).
Lot of big time programs will be looking for new coaches....

Frost had a rocky relationship w/ husker fans, he got caught in the middle of the Lawrence Phillips fiasco and they turned on him, but he’s been quoted in the past that he would love to coach at Nebraska. He’s gone, IMO. Florida should go after Chip Kelly or open up the checkbook and pay the Justin fuente 15M buyout
Maybe in the next 2 or 3 years. A bunch of those schools (Illinois, Texas Tech, UCLA, Arkansas?) likely won't be making a switch this year.

Frost has forgiven Nebraska fans for the awful way they treated him as a player. That doesn't mean he's forgotten how easily they'll turn on him and only claim him now as "one of their own" because he's winning and they're losing.
True but if he was to take the job and resurrect Nebraska he will be enshrined for turning around one of the most premier programs ever in college football.

Frost has been very pragmatic with his career. Sure, Nebraska is home. But Frost took the G5 UCF job over other P5 jobs because it was located in the middle of fertile recruiting ground. That was the #1 reason. He openly stated he hated flying around to recruit. Now he drives around and is home by dinner. Now factor in his first baby is due this week. Would you want to have this conversation with your wife:
SF: Honey, I know we just had a baby and I'm home all the time in sunny Florida, but we're moving to Nebraska this winter where it will be 10 degree with snow on the ground. I know that's hard for you since you grew up in Arizona. Oh, and I'll be gone a lot flying all over the country recruiting, especially in Florida, so I won't be around as much to help with the brand new baby. But don't worry, MY mother will be here to help you...in Nebraska.
Sure, I could also go to UF, or even just stay here, but I think I want to go back to the place where I KNOW they will turn on me and fire me at the first sign of trouble.

Ohio is not the same as Nebraska. You know that. Meyer left UF because of his health and his family wanted him to. His kids made him sign a contract. You know that too. I never said Meyer left the South to go North. You're just putting words in my mouth at that point.

Most of the non Nebraskans just assuming Frost will run home is because they know he played there. They don't know he left Nebraska the first chance he got and only came home because he got moved to safety at Stanford. Then when he got back, the fans were so awful to him that he publicly said he wouldn't take 2 cents for any fans. They boo'd him against, ironically, UCF.
Will he go back? Maybe, I don't know. Is the idea that he may not want to a possibility considering his history, his current family situation and the HC job at UF being open? Sure.

I am not a Nebraskan, and have lived in Onaha for only 5 yrs, but anybody who knows about the Nebraska fan base knows how passionate they are about to team.
I am unaware of any hard feelings towards Frost from the fanbase who are seemingly all around me, or local sports talk radio which has been talking about him the past 4 weeks in regards to any hard feelings, or how his perception of Nebraska and the fan base are so you can imagine this is quite interesting to me and odd at the same time.
I'm currently in Alaska but will be in Omaha next week, and I'll ask some of the guys I work with.

That was an excellent read thanks. I will definitely bring this up to some of the guys, and curious why local radio talk doesn't consider the past while evaluating Frost as a contender
