In year 3, won the SEC East the last 2 years. Just goes to show you the hot name is no guarantee.
I agree even though I had not thought of him. Seems he would make a lot of sense for Chip to head to UF.Perhaps Chip Kelly...
Yes.... the AD that hired Mullen at Mississippi State is now Fla's AD.Losing record, boring offense and getting blown out be GA was too much to survive. Is the next guy up Dan Mullen?
Nebraska will be open too. Frost is gone IMO
Nebraska is looking at Frost. It's all over local newsAs a UCF guy, I keep hoping we somehow sidestep losing Frost for a few more years. With UF opening, it's gonna be tough.
Lot of big time programs will be looking for new coaches....
Florida
Texas Tech
Nebraska
Arkansas
Tennessee
BYU
Texas A&M
UCLA
North Carolina
Illinois
Missouri
Possibly UCLA,ARKANSAS..... TO early still on Lovie and Dingleburry..Maybe in the next 2 or 3 years. A bunch of those schools (Illinois, Texas Tech, UCLA, Arkansas?) likely won't be making a switch this year.
Frost isnt going anywhere he can't recruit locally. It was the reason he passed up Syracuse and NC State for G5 UCF.
He may or may not leave, but remember, Chris Peterson didn't leave Boise St after 2 season of winning.
I also don't see Frost leaving before a NY6 bowl if his team is 13-0. Will any team wait that long for him? i understand that BK did when he came from Cinci, but he had already won national titles before at the lower level. Frost hasn't won anything yet, not even a bowl game as a head coach.
True but if he was to take the job and resurrect Nebraska he will be enshrined for turning around one of the most premier programs ever in college football.Frost has forgiven Nebraska fans for the awful way they treated him as a player. That doesn't mean he's forgotten how easily they'll turn on him and only claim him now as "one of their own" because he's winning and they're losing.
True but if he was to take the job and resurrect Nebraska he will be enshrined for turning around one of the most premier programs ever in college football.
The NFL will be calling then
Frost has been very pragmatic with his career. Sure, Nebraska is home. But Frost took the G5 UCF job over other P5 jobs because it was located in the middle of fertile recruiting ground. That was the #1 reason. He openly stated he hated flying around to recruit. Now he drives around and is home by dinner. Now factor in his first baby is due this week. Would you want to have this conversation with your wife:
SF: Honey, I know we just had a baby and I'm home all the time in sunny Florida, but we're moving to Nebraska this winter where it will be 10 degree with snow on the ground. I know that's hard for you since you grew up in Arizona. Oh, and I'll be gone a lot flying all over the country recruiting, especially in Florida, so I won't be around as much to help with the brand new baby. But don't worry, MY mother will be here to help you...in Nebraska.
Sure, I could also go to UF, or even just stay here, but I think I want to go back to the place where I KNOW they will turn on me and fire me at the first sign of trouble.
Wife: Ummmmm....yeah...we need to talk.
Possibly UCLA,ARKANSAS..... TO early still on Lovie and Dingleburry..
The bar is low at Central Florida.
He's halfway through his 2nd season ever as a HC. Perhaps he has a better understanding of what he is ready for at this point than internet posters. Chris Peterson stayed how long at Boise ST before moving on?
You believe the fan base to be gentle to him at UF?
No. Where did I say that?
If he is a coach that wants to reach the Pinnacles no better place than Nebraska to do it for him.
Again. No. His offense relies on speed. Nebraska is not the pinnacle of what he actually does. Somewhere in the South East is. Every great job in America will be open again at some point before his 50th birthday. Why the rush?
If he's going to have his wife and baby dictate his career and his future then he's in the wrong profession.
Urban Meyer, his wife and his kid's say you're wrong.
Ohio is not the same as Nebraska. You know that. Meyer left UF because of his health and his family wanted him to. His kids made him sign a contract. You know that too. I never said Meyer left the South to go North. You're just putting words in my mouth at that point.
You're just arguing to be argumentative. If your net worth was on the line and you had to find high school football players with speed, would you choose Florida or Nebraska? That's rhetorical because we all know the answer is Florida.
With regard to the first point, you completely missed the point. I was saying neither you, nor I have any idea what he thinks he is ready for. Chris Peterson is just an example of someone who did exactly the opposite of what you said Frost is going to do. Me saying posters have no idea what he is thinking is NOT me saying what he is thinking.
You're stoned UM was run out of Florida because he was allowing the bad influences to do whatever they wanted.
His health???
That's rich!
Conspiracy?OK, we're into conspiracy theory world. I'm done. You can't have conversations with conspiracy theorists because logic and facts mean nothing. It's all about insulting people who don't buy into the wacky theories.
Most of the non Nebraskans just assuming Frost will run home is because they know he played there. They don't know he left Nebraska the first chance he got and only came home because he got moved to safety at Stanford. Then when he got back, the fans were so awful to him that he publicly said he wouldn't take 2 cents for any fans. They boo'd him against, ironically, UCF.
Will he go back? Maybe, I don't know. Is the idea that he may not want to a possibility considering his history, his current family situation and the HC job at UF being open? Sure.
Good piece above Frost and Nebraska relationship.
