Notre Dame men's basketball doesn't have much time to recover from a heartbreaking overtime loss to Rutgers late last night in Las Vegas.

The Irish will continue their Players Era Festival schedule even later Wednesday night at MGM Grand Garden Arena. Tip against No. 6 Houston (3-2) is scheduled for 12:30 a.m. EST.

Houston also lost in overtime, 85-80, Tuesday night against No. 9 Alabama.

The Irish are expected to be without star guard Markus Burton, who suffered an apparent knee injury early in Tuesday night's game. Notre Dame has yet to release an update on Burton's diagnosis.

Houston is led by 6-foot-1 guard L.J Cryer. He's averaging 15.0 points per game. Two more Houston players are averaging double digits in scoring: 6-3 guard Emanuel Sharp (12.2) and 6-8 forward J'Wan Roberts (10.4).

Houston is one of the best 3-point shooting teams in the country. Its 3-point percentage of 45.5 is second among Division I programs.

The Cougars are also elite on the defensive end. They've allowed just 57.6 points per game, which ranks eighth in the country.
