Notre Dame men's basketball will try to pull off an upset in the opening round of the four-team Legends Classis hosted at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.

The Irish (1-1), who lost to Western Carolina on Saturday, will take on Auburn (1-1) with tip expected for 9 p.m. EST on ESPN2. The first game of the Legends Classic featuring Oklahoma State (1-1) and St. Bonaventure will tip at 6:30 p.m. EST on ESPNU.

The losers of the two games will meet Friday at 4:30 p.m. on ESPNU. The winners will play Friday at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.

The Tigers should present a big challenge for Notre Dame. Auburn is led by 6-foot-10 center Johni Broome, who's averaging 17 points and 11 rebounds through two games. Freshman guard Aden Holloway (6-1, 178) has also been a dynamic scorer off the bench with 15 points per game.

The Irish will likely be without starting forward Kebba Njie, who's working back from a hand injury.

Without Njie, Notre Dame is expected to start guards Markus Burton, Braeden Shrewsberry, Julian Roper II and forwards Tae Davis and Matt Zona.
