Here are tonight's Lucky Charms...
*** Jonesborough (Tenn.) David Crockett class of 2021 linebacker Prince Kollie added an offer from Notre Dame May 17, and the Irish staff has been on him hard. Notre Dame defensive coordinator Clark Lea, a native of Nashville, Tenn., has led the charge in this recruitment and is making an impact. I'm told that Lea was on a call last night with Kollie's coach and should be setting up a zoom call with Kollie and his camp later this week. I'm not expecting Kollie to make a commitment this summer; Notre Dame will play the long game here.
*** Last night, the Fighting Irish offered Greenville (S.C.) High class of 2022 offensive lineman Collin Sadler. Clemson should be considered the team to beat, but Notre Dame is very much in the mix now. He does love Notre Dame and enjoyed his trip up to campus last November, even though he drove up in the middle of the night following a game where he injured his ankle. Sadler had a great chat with Jeff Quinn yesterday, and the Irish offensive line coach's honesty meant a lot to him. The Sadler family asked Quinn what position they saw Collin playing at the next level, and Quinn said tackle. Other college coaches haven't given a direct answer on the question yet.
*** Earlier today, Quinn also offered Edmond (Okla.) Deer Creek class of 2022 offensive lineman Jacob Sexton. Both Sadler and Sexton visited Notre Dame for the Boston College game last November. And both have seen their recruiting process skyrocket since then and now have the Irish on their offer sheet. I spoke to Sexton just minutes after he landed the offer and he was excited, but I'd still probably give the edge to Oklahoma at this point. A source did tell me that Notre Dame was a big offer that Sexton was waiting on.
*** East Lansing (Mich.) High class of 2021 wide receiver Andrel Anthony tweeted today that he'll be announcing his top four this Saturday. The four schools I'd guess that will make his top group are Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame and Penn State. I'm not betting on Michigan being in it though because I've heard they're not after him as much as they once were. Right now, Michigan State is considered the team to beat, but it's close between the Spartans and Irish.
