Book was very serviceable this year especially when the offense wasn't as efficient as they should be. We all got giddy because he showed accuracy and calm under fire. Problem was he just doesn't have all the tools for a championship QB. With Wimbush you had severe high and lows but he won and defenses HAD to respect his athleticism. He was the type of player that made a line stay disciplined in their pass rush, use a spy, opened up the run game, etc. What's done is done and now ND moves to 2019.

In 2019 Book should come into camp as the starter BUT give Phil every chance to beat him out. If he doesn't completely beat him out give him playing time like Lawrence got early on. If Phil does beat him out please, please...PLEASE don't restrict him as an athlete like they did Wimbush. Time and time again these ND QBs are so dynamic in high school come in and forced to play a style they are not comfortable doing resulting in loss of confidence.

Book has shown grit all year. He's becoming seasoned and had a difficult game against a very good team.....the receivers and o line weren't helpful. The running game couldn't relieve any pressure on him. So the whole team had a bad game.
He was far more than serviceable imo. If his position is in jeopardy......everyone's position should be in jeopardy

What “STYLE” is that ?

Wimbush was a liability as a QB.

When he was brought in against Florida State when Book was injured, he went 12-25 with 2 interceptions, so tell us when he bolted from the pocket prematurely how he made a “line stay disciplined”
