I heard during the LAX championship game yesterday that the award takes the tournament into consideration.
It should be Kavanaugh or Entenmann!

My vote would be for Kav...

He played the more consistent season!

Liam was remarkable when he had to be; but had a few "off days" when the team could afford for him to be less than his best!!

A committee comprised of coaches...

I'd hope that in the spirit of avoiding that kind of dilemma; there would be an understanding beforehand to support the candidacy of one player over the other!!

Taking nothing away from the other three; but it would be a slap in the face to two players that won a national title to give the award to a player who was on a 6-loss team (both O'Neill and Shellenberger); or to a guy whose team missed the NCAA tournament entirely (Brandau)!!

I sort of agree. But in men's lacrosse no goalie has ever won the Tewaaraton Trophy. On the women's side, a goalie and a defender has won only once. Seems to be a lot like the Heisman, only players involved in scoring points win.
