was apparently outstanding. The inconsistency and poor footwork that were evident this past season and at the combine, didn't show up on his campus performance, and happy for that. As someone who seriously doubts that Kizer is worthy of a first round selection, it appears he gave the scouts plenty to think about. As always, wish him a successful and prosperous career, and still believe he will be best served if he goes to a team with a star veteran with one or two years left.

Absolutely agree. Worst arrangement for both Quinn and Clausen was each being drafted by a team that needed a QBN sooner than later and then not getting enough support from coaches to have time to really get ready.

The problem is that you don't really get better without playing. There are such limited reps for backup QB's.

Plus they just weren't t good enough for the top level. No shame in that. Just getting there is a huge accomplishment in my opinion.

That is not really true..A player can pick it up in a short time..I was able to and I was not as good as Kizer

Not sure I agree about the question of good enough. Consistency was a problem and I do wonder if each had been given more time to develop, then they may have settled into the position better especially regarding the speed of defenders..

Agree on Quinn; Clausen was most accurate college qb I've ever seen. Delivery, pocket presence, foot speed, and Cam Newton did JC no favors. He absolutely could have won a superbowl like Dilfer and 2015-16 Manning.

Not to be that guy but so could a lot of NFL quarterbacks.

yeah i remember JC's 2nd year... has to be one the most accurate arms I have seen...
too bad he just didn't get a real shot....

has he quit?

Well sorry, that was my nice way of saying that your comment was stupid.
Whoa catfish... Simply being sarcastic. But since you went and called my comment stupid and all, lettuce take a deeper look shall we?

Just out of curiosity, do you think Brock Osweiler could do it? Mark Sanchez?

If you're like me, you're thinking no way on Brock. But maybe on Sanchez, amirite? We would both be wrong since Brock actually beat out Sanchez, on that vaunted Denver team to be exact.

So while many NFL qbs might be able to, many also might not be able.

Just saying Clausen was better than most think.

How did we end up here fellow Domer fan? Not to be that guy, but when you said "not to be that guy", to which I followed up "^^this guy^^, I expected you to lol... lols

Well I'm sorry. Sarcasm is always difficult to understand on a message board. Seems to be a miscommunication.

But really come on. You literally compared Clausen to the two least talented (at their times) quarterbacks to ever win a Super Bowl. That does not make Clausen a good NFL quarterback. In fact, Clausen's play in the NFL has proven that he's not a good NFL quarterback.

If you were realistic, you would see what everyone has long ago seen. Clausen is not a good quarterback.

Clausen was damn good his junior year. Should have stayed one more and played for Kelly... But in the end -- he had the arm. Was size and mobility the issue?
