We converted a 2 pointer versus VA earlier this year. (Kizer pass to Hunter)
Last night we avoided the failed attempt having an impact. However, had Stanford kicked a FG to make it a 9 point difference costing us the game there would have been hell to pay...

We would have at least had a 2 pt lead at half time. The idiotic bug and turnover arguments about the 2 pt conversion would not have happened and the game may have went to OT.

Anyone who has an issue w the 2 pt play is a fool , as you said throw K Russell into the mix and ND ends the season 11-1 . If someone had told me after Zaire went down that ND would have a shot at the playoff the last week of the season I would have thought that person was on drugs . ND needs to close on three or four targets on the recruiting trail this month - an impact pass rusher and an impact DB are a must imo to keep the momentum going for the program . I will be glad to get J Jones, Tranquill , Crawford back for next year . I hope the coaches score on a couple prime timers in the next eight weeks

why ? every single coaching staff in america has one at every level. the " card" had NOTHING to do with notre dame losing. it was great game between two really good teams.
Even the biggest of amateurs knows not to go chasing points halfway through the third quarter. Again, before he decided at 29-28 to go for 2 I was yelling at the TV screen "this idiot better not go for 2 here." Of course he did. He's a meathead coach.

The point is the head coach didn't have the option because of the decision he made to take a free point off of the board at 5:24 in the third. It's all about odds. ND would've been in OT at a minimum if the 2-pt try was good on the last ND drive.

How about being greedy at the end of the second quarter? Set up a QB draw or running play to line up a FG attempt for Yoon. Quickly, spike it.
The offense struggled in the red zone all night. He thought Stanford was giving up a TD pass there? I knew at halftime ND was going to lose because of that fumble by Kizer. A gift 3 points off of the board. I know a lot of you only watch ND, but I watch a lot of football and know when something will come back to haunt you later. That play killed ND.

Why do you think that perse ? Three of their TD drives were extended by the officials. You think the officials would of kept extending scoring drives in OT ?
AS a matter of fact - they had a harder time stopping our offense - our O did not get officials help in extending drives. IMO we would of kicked their ASS in OT.
