Price averaged 6.2 YPC last year. That’s less than a yard under Jeanty’s average. If Price played for Georgia you’d be saying he’s better than Love and it was a huge recruiting miss.
Ashton Jeanty was also chosen #6 in the NFL Draft. The skill sets between Jadarian Price and Ashton Jeanty aren’t close.
To be fair to the RB's, the offense had no passing threat, and OL was banged up. When you have a QB that wasn't very accurate beyond 7 yards, opposing defenses pick up on that and force you to throw.
Well, IMO, when you have a QB that could run like Riley Leonard could, that is a benefit to the RB's.
Except for Tony Rice, as a runner, Riley Leonard is as good as any QB who has played for Notre Dame.
Again, never said Price was as skilled as Jeanty? Responded to a comment about our backfield being overrated and YPC is a solid statistic regarding productivity, especially with it being pretty close to, wait for it, the #6 draft pick.
I swear if I said the golden dome was beautiful you’d try to argue with me about it.
Jadarian is not only not as skilled as Ashton Jeanty, again, it isn't close, despite whatever YPC statistics you posted.
And frankly, there is nothing wrong with that fact.

Not true at all, Georgia Oline wasn't that good last year.
Price has an amazing one cut and burst out of that cut, but he struggled in tighter spaces between the tackles. The number of zero to negative yardage runs needs to be significantly reduced this year. I expect it to be with his improvements and oline improvements, plus a better passing game so teams can't tee off on our oline.
He had one great run vs A&M. Price had 8 carries for 44 yards, 1 of his 8 carries went for 47 yards. That's an awesome run, and it was huge in the game buy the problem was his poor bounce outsides for negative yards on drives that were drive killers. his other 7 carries went for -3 yards. If he cleans that issue up, he could be much better.

Echo, I think you lost this argument. Golson said 242 MAY be too high, etc… and you said 343 SEEMS too high, etc…. Both MAY and SEEMS are too similar in these contexts to argue a difference.
I wasn't arguing. I posted about an article I read about Young being 242 and ripped. I commented that at that weight he'll be a load. Another poster asked what I thought about Sev weighing 343. I said on face value that it seems high. No argument at all. Certainly not with a poster I've had on ignore for quite some time now.

My point is that Price is not “overrated.” Our backfield is not overrated. I can’t wait to see what the young guys can do, we already know Love is tier 1, and Price is a hell of a good back.
But maybe just for giggles, who do you think is better at ping pong, price or jeanty?
ND's passing offense should be far better than it was last year. It will keep the defenses honest and give the RB's much better opportunities than they had last season.
What's crazy is it's all about the passing offense first 2 games of the year. Most likely our most difficult games. Will freeman and Denbrock have confidence in the passing offense and first time starting QB to have a relatively balanced offensive game plan game 1 at miami and game 2 vs A&M? TBD, i fully expect both teams, to be bringing it at our oline and QB.
If they can run the ball effectively they’ll be able to pass on them.
ND's breaking in a new QB, I would believe they would want to ease him in. I expect a run heavy offense, but then again, I could be completely wrong.
I expect us to run a lot as well, similar to A&M game, but if we don't open it up some, we may struggle like A&M game. Miami and A&M are going to go all out to stop the run.
