No it presupposes a slot for worthy conference representatives, not an automatic bid
That's absurd. The idea that we are going to have 3 at large bids and 5 other bids for "worthy" teams is ridiculous.
That's why I qualified it when I said looked at one way. If I had control, I would have 8 teams with the BCS computer rankings system making the choices. But there will always be those who say that a "Conference Champ" should always get in. At least with 8 teams you can appease those people.

Listen, you are the poster who claimed that most fan s wanted an 8 team playoff. You claimed to have learned this by attending countless games and tailgates. Now you say that you did not tailgate with these people, but simply witnessed them. Just repeating what you have posted, that's all. Or, in other words, your claim that most CFB fans want an 8 game playoff is you superimposing your own desires on "most CFB fans."
So a lot of strong responses about how big the playoff should be, but not many comments about a selection process where a handful of guys don't have to justify their picks according to any sort of objective criteria.

I also would guess that most fans would like eightnteams for obvious reasons. It involves more teams and more fan participation and goes further to ensure the best team is in the playoff. I do not necessarily believe that is the result with four teams.
I did not say that by watching tailgates I learned that people want an 8 game playoff.
I said that watching tailgates etc. was my justification for my lack of faith in humanity.
And never have I said that I wanted an 8 team playoff. In fact, I don't. I think four is fine.
I said Joe Sixpack, based on being a buffoon, wants an expanded playoff format.
