We've been working all day on the Julius Irvin front, and have been talking to multiple sources about the recruitment of the Anaheim (Calif.) Servite four-star defensive back.
After speaking with multiple sources this afternoon, we are now feeling confident about Notre Dame's chances of landing a commitment and subsequent signature from Irvin this week.
Obviously, things can change from minute to minute, as they already have several times in this recruitment, but this is where things are as of right now.
Notre Dame, Washington and USC have all been involved, and have all been thought to be the favorite at one point or another. But it looks like Notre Dame is going to be leader when it matters.
The Irish coaching staff went all out on this recruitment, as did Washington. The same can't be said for USC, which you're well aware of if you read my interview piece with LeRoy Irvin Friday.
This has been a wild recruitment, but as of Monday at 9:00 p.m, we fully expect Irvin to be Irish.
