I've been a Chicago Bears fan since birth. I've been a Notre Dame fan since age 8.

The last Bears Super Bowl win was when I was 11, last ND national championship when I was 14. I wasn't really old enough to appreciate either.

Since then, it's been nothing but heartbreak. The 1993 Boston College game, the 2007 Super Bowl, the 2011 NFC Championship game, The Cody Parkey double doink.

The 2012 National Championship game was the worst. I lost both my dad and my sister that year. My wife and I drove 5 hours to watch the game at O'Rourke's because I wanted to go over and celebrate on campus after the game. I got so emotional that night I cried for literally an hour.

I just can't bring myself to expect a victory Monday. It's hard for me to comprehend what that would even feel like. I feel like I'm Charlie Brown and my favorite football teams are Lucy, snagging that ball away right as I think I'm about to kick it.

My prediction is Ohio State 24, Notre Dame 10, but I've never wanted to be wrong about something so badly in my entire life.
