and everyone truly knows it, but it's hard to admit that you're wrong. Even if it means losing some games. The answer is standing on the sideline and is not getting a fair shake. Hope he transfers for his own sake.

Wimbush is playing horrible. But the offensive line is not good at all. There is no Rashaun Gary, Bush, or Winovich out there, but they are making Ball State look just as effective.

Wimbush should not be the QB, period. He’s athletic and can run, yes. But that only matters when you’re a competent enough passer to make the running really effective. And he’s just not good enough. It is against teams like this, but good D will eat him up. He doesn’t even deserve to finish this game.

In Wimbush defense our line sucks but thats even more of a reason to switch to Bo

Agree, i think he should have been to one to move to running back not Avery Davis who should be in the slot not running back. Just poor coaching decisions all around.

Just never know what you are going to get with him. I've been hearing he is the second coming since he was a Freshman. He has just not done it. I really think it is time to try Book. He sees the field better. Seems to understand the offense better. But this was six straight quarters of pretty piss poor offensive football. The O-line is also guilty.

I agree Wimbush is a tailback playing quarterback.

You do realize if we didn't have a qb that could move he would get murdered with the way our offensive line is playing. An Ian Book isn't the answer either.

He just doesn't read the defense. For all his failures as an athlete, Rees could read a defense make a quick decision and make the throw. I don't know if BW is second guessing himself or what but this was very troubling... Maybe it is Book's time to start. He seems to understand Long's offense. I really want Brandon to be what he can be but I'm just not seeing it.

This is bad. You either make the switch now or it's too late.

This is probably viagra for bud foster thinking about his scheme versus our current situation.

The OL did not play as bad in pass blocking as many are saying. Way too often Wimbush rolled into pressure rather than step up into the pocket. He held onto the ball forever because he's always looking deep to throw the deep ball instead of checking down.

They weren't great but they certainly played good enough to put up 40 pts. Wimbush is a fantastic athlete but he's never been a QB.

First, they were fortunate to win. For me the biggest play was the fumbled punt that didn’t get reviewed. If they did, Ball st gets the ball and the entire game may have changed. Second, give Ball st some credit. They were outmanned but played inspired. Third, as stated earlier, Winbush is an athlete not a QB. If I’m Kelly, Book needs to play. You can tell Winbush doesn’t really see the field. If they keep him , they will lose 4 or 5 games. I’ve seen enough to him to know they won’t go far with him at QB. The defense is really good, thank goodness. I’m glad they won, but the offense has some major issues. Special teams aren’t so special. One game at a time as they say.

Either change the QB or change the offensive coordinator that will consistently run plays to the strength of this one. I am for a change to a real QB that sees the field, that reads the defense, that does not lock onto receivers, that has a feel for the the game, and that simply executes.

I feel absolutely terrible for Book.

I know the offensive line is not playing as a unit which makes Wimbush look like he's playing worse than he is but he threw into double and triple coverage multiple times and someone please tell him that he can throw the ball away when he's outside the hash lines. Sometimes the best play is to throw it away.

As for Book, I think the offense plays crisper when he is in because they can get into a better rhythm. I do wish he would have played some in the second half today when Wimbush was struggling.

Vandy also runs a 3-4. Hope were not in for more of the same next week

No hes not. Book is not a starting level qb at ND. Stop this madness now.

The solution isn’t book, he’s just a different flavor. Long Playcalling, wimbush decision making , and the oline are a disaster through 2 games.

Book doesn't beat Michigan or USC last year.. he likely tears this Ball St team up though but without a running game or O-Line, Wimbush is the X Factor. If you think Book is going to be effective on designed runs, scrambling for his life against UM, converting 3rd and 18 on the ground and living off 7 yard slants all day- Michigan wins that game.

I think the plan was let BW gain some confidence in the pocket today, no designed runs, but clearly that didn't work.. that wasn't or isn't the same offensive game plan we'll see against VT/USC.

No. He's a safety.

Too heavy footed for tailback.

At safety though he could use the one or two things he's learned in the QB meetings to help reading plays.

In the O lines defense though, Wimbush takes forever to get the ball out because he can't read defenses requiring the line to hold its blocks longer.

Valid point......and until we get an O line that can blow holes open for our running backs, Wimbush will be the X factor more times than I'd like.

The Book bashers in this thread need to stop posting altogether. There is no opinion going forward anyone on here will consider worth a shit. He’s 100x better than Wimbush running this offense.

Yep, all he's done so far is prove all the haters wrong, and made half this board look stupid.
