Is the Alabama Dynasty over?

I think much of this question is getting bias in return. We all want Bama to go away.....but its Nick Saban...and that roster and recruiting is still there. Don't be surprised if Ty Simpson takes over soon. Saban left Milroe in the whole game....And I think that puts that baby to bed. Bama now as a goal to get into the playoffs with a loss. I wouldn't count them out just yet. Even by SEC standards...they are more talented than all but one or two teams in their conferenc.e.

Monk Malloy isn't at Alabama tightening academic standards.
Good point. But as another poster said Bama can only go down. Did you see that place yesterday? You would think Bama never won anything. I think they are on the downswing but they are definitely still a force.

When you are 152-17 since 2011, winning at a 90% clip, nowhere else to go but down.

Still, despite yesterday, I do not see Alabama going too far.

They all do ultimately .

The guy has won 5 National Championships for them. Their turn to understand how others feel .

152-17 since 2011.
That’s wild. One 3 loss or worse season since 2008 and it was still 10-3 and a blowout of Michigan State in the bowl game.

Lost by 14,3, and 1 to 9-5 South Carolina, 11-2 LSU, and 14-0 Auburn, respectively.

If there’s one school who realizes how much an upgrade at quarterback can change the look of your team, it’s us at ND, and I think that’s exactly what Alabama is missing.

I’m thankful Hartman came to ND and said no to Bama. I’d love to ask him why he denied Saban. He’s stated the NFL is his goal. Saban had a need and has recently coached 4 starting NFL quarterbacks. Maybe he just loved the shiny gold helmet!

The gap is closing on Bama’s dominance, but I’d bet they’ll still be towards the top for a bit. Recruiting is too stellar for a massive drop, unless Saban retires tomorrow of course…

Not sure if it’s the end, probably never win titles at the rate they did the previous decade though.

I think there are a few things in play here. First, the QB play. Bama had one NFL QB after another for quite sometime. Jones, Tua, Young, Hurts, etc. when you don’t simply plug in another AA QB the team will struggle regardless of talent around them.

Look at OSU, they may be awesome by week 6-7 but right now McCord just isn’t near Strouds, Fields, Haskins, Barrett’s play at this point. Even with the ridiculous riches of talent they have at WR and RB, they don’t look efficient or consistent after two games.

Take UGA, they’ve played two nobodies to start and have a really soft schedule which is beneficial as they are also breaking in a new QB. I watched him some week one and he definitely didn’t wow me against a doormat.

CFB like the NFL is so quarterback driven in the modern era, not many teams compete year in and out without elite signal callers.

Is Dabo a poor coach suddenly or was the fall off from a few straight 1st round QBs hard to replicate?

Additionally, Bama’s OL just hasn’t been dominant the past 3-4 years either, far more sacks, less ypc., ypg. The DL hasn’t looked like the Bama DL of the teens either. There was a period where they were like the current UGA front seven is now prior to Smart being at UGA.

The change over in his staff seems unsustainable, his staff is poached mercilessly every year.

FFS, he gave Tommy Rees $2.5 Million, that tells you a lot IMO.

“When you have won 6 CFB titles since 2009, Alabama has nowhere to go but down. Where else are they supposed to go?”

I don’t know where else they’re supposed to go, but their classes are the same as they’ve been under saban, yet they’re not playing nearly as well the last couple years. That’s why I said it takes more than a highly ranked class to win a title. Your post listing their classes the last 3-4 yrs only validates what I’m saying.

I think the combination of the transfer portal and NIL is creating a lot of parity in the sport which is a nice consequence. Talented young players are done waiting around behind established stars on the depth chart and there's nothing impeding them from leaving a crowded depth chart at their current school and joining a depth chart that is wide open (which naturally spreads the talent out among more teams).

Maybe your chance of developing into a first round NFL draft pick is less at Wisconsin than say at OSU, but if you can get on the field sooner at Wisconsin and make an impact you can raise your profile and start earning more NIL dollars without waiting around years for your turn.

And maybe Wisconsin doesn't have the same chance to win the big10 as a PSU might but they still cash large BIG10 checks and can compete/entice you with NIL signing bonuses instead.

The biggest thing I notice about alabama in the second half of Sick sabans tenure is that the secondary always seems vulnerable. I don’t know if it is talent, scheme, coaching, or just offense is easier now than ever or a combo of things.
