There's projected to be as many as 12 NFL HC job openings this upcoming offseason and HC MF has been linked to some of these jobs as per NFL Network & ESPN

He is successful, right out of central casting and doesn’t treat players like trash.

He will be hard to keep as well as most of his staff in 2 years.

No surprise here------successful HC who is a minority.

Get used to it. He'll be courted if this continues.
What if the LSU finishes 6-6, the LSU football community completely implodes, they fire BK, and then hire MF. And MF takes the job, and is gone. For the same nominal reasons. It's just too hard to win a championship at ND. MF's recruiting is probably worse than BK's, at least as far as the rankings. Meaning, he's probably finding very good program fits, and the truth is he's recruiting beautifully for ND, but he just has to shop in a different aisle. That whole paradigm.

And so he's off to the SEC! That would be classic. Maybe we could promote Al Golden in that case. That might not be a bad consolation prize.

Everyone in this forum is now dumber for having read that....

May God have mercy on your soul

I don't think the NFL comes calling.. He has almost zero NFL experience. People are looking for clicks. ND needs to be worried about mama calling him when Ryan Day leaves Columbus.

Al Golden leaving to be an NFL DC with more money and fewer hours? Perhaps something to be concerned about..

If you're reading into the vague language as he wants to leave already, you're overreacting. If anything it's contractual gamesmanship as he's probably anticipating an extension with a playoff run this year. Why not throw a little uncertainty in the public arena and get a few more people blowing up your agent to use for a better deal (either more money or guarantees).

No problem at all with me. Coach has shown nothing but loyalty to Notre Dame so far.

More silly trolling. It's time to give it up and try to get some real information before posting.
I dont know man, he was asked point blank about the rumors and i didn't really think the response he gave was that reassuring.

When you consider how far behind ND is in terms of talent acquisition, NIL budget, etc. its not surprising when really good coaches start flirting with better options.

This "really good coach" is the same guy you were trashing after ND lost to NIU earlier this season. Once again, you speak out of both sides of your mouth.

This is nuts. Another made up narrative.

Who are the "really good coaches" that are "flirting with better options"?

Who specifically?

Kelly was here for over a decade.

Freeman has done nothing that indicates he's going to leave soon.

There's so much erroneous takes attributed to me on this board its not even funny. I've done nothing but talk up Marcus Freeman the head coach for going on 2 seasons now. The coaching has been top notch since the start of the BK era. Its the talent acquisition side of the football operations that needs to come out of the stone ages and that i deride on this forum constantly (but not the coaching)

It just ain't workin' for you! It's time to find another hobby, like chess or rugby.

That dude could never have played rugby. He was limited to the Chess Club and Debate Team in HS.

Now, with that said, he did get a participation trophy for 6-year old t-ball.
