I wouldn't feel to sorry for Jaylon because surely he knew this was a possibility. It's why he took out the insurance policy, if he gets anything from them. If not, he'll do OK as a second or even third round choice. The important thing is he gets time to rehab the injury properly. Given the medical science of today, he should come back just fine and make his money on the second contract. From what I've read and learned from through painful experience, this isn't a career ending injury.

no i don't feel "sorry" for him. it's certainly a setback and thankfully for him millions of dollars are coming his way no matter how it plays out. i went to the funeral saturday of a 19 year old who was a former student athlete at our school. he died of a drug overdose. his family i feel sorry for.

He is a fine young man and others of lesser character and ability have come back from more.

He may not go as high as he would have, but nerve damage heals in time and he and his future team just need to be patient. He is potentially a superstar and his talent will allow a smart team to look past the injury to the future.

I'm sick of people saying these players aren't getting anything, I'm still paying off my student loans and so are a lot of other people. So even if a player never plays a second in a pro sport, their walking out with an education debt free.
