our irish wbb take on the Baylor bears tonight for a spot in the final four. game comes on at 8:30pm on espn or espn2. the Baylor bears are good but if our pg allen shoots like she did the other night then it'll be a fifth straight final four because we'll simply have too many scorers for Baylor to stop. they have been so good in the tournament that they've been winning big without espnw national player of the year jewel loyd putting together a complete game yet

Need to overcome weekend trend. Lady Zags blew 17 pt lead at home, Louisville women lost to lower seed too.

Mabrey has to keep hitting 3's. She got us back in the game.

And defense has to keep tightening up.

we need to play more pressure def and get hands in there faces because there killing us with easy mid range jump shots

Anyone notice that Lloyd's shooting percentage seems way off what she normally has been doing?

Seems to be missing a lot of layups that she normally used to make. Hope she snaps out of this "slump".

we are so off tonight on boths ends. were lucky that there kinda've off now also or this would be a blowout

Agbuke should have been ejected the first time, and she just elbowed Turner in the face again.

we just can't play defense on any of Baylor's players and I don't understand why

Same as last game, Westbeld isn't getting much playing time. In McGraw's dog house for something? Or hurt?

if jewel doesn't get out of this shooting funk that she's in right now then it'll be tough to win this game

Yeah, she's been in this funk for a few games now. Missing layups, missing free throws. Very unlike her.

We won. Whew!

Not our best night shooting. But we gritted it out.

Good game girls. Now hope they fix things before next Sunday.

i'm so happy for this team but yes they have some things to fix before next weekend

it says a lot for our coaches and program in general when we can get back to a fifth straight final four in a semi rebuilding year

They did make a few Free Throws down the stretch.
Bring on USC, South Carolina, I mean.
GOOO IRISH.

Right, this is a relatively young team which is "retooling" after the graduation of McBride and Achonwa.

I like the next game with South Carolina .Win or lose ,will enjoy watching this game . Wonder how many points UConn will beat Dayton ,40, 50? UConn is just too much the best this year .

Also ,it seems that there are the same women's teams year after year in the elite 8 .7 out of the 8 are either a one or two seed .Duke ,Tennessee,Maryland,Stanford ,ND,UConn, Baylor ,now include South Carolina ,sometimes North Carolina, recently Louisville.

The recruiting bears this out. The major powers always seem to get the top 30 players year after year. There are exceptions .A Nebraska,a Texas ,a Washington ,a Vanderbilt get a player or 2 in the elite category ,but so far not enough top recruits to break into the top ten girls basketball powers

I just hope that ND gets an elite 6'4 or 6'5" player in the future to bolster the front court rebounding and help defend the paint.

you'e right about Dayton Izo as they'll probably get a beatdown by 30 plus pts. I love there Cinderella story and would love to see them shock the world but I just don't see how it happens. the south Carolina game is a game that can go either way. if we finally play a complete game as a team like we can then we should win a very close one but if we play like we did this sunday then we can forget about winning. the gamecocks showed that there beatable as they won a very close game against decent but not great tar heel squad
