irish vs west virginia round 2 game thread

our irish didn't shoot very well Thursday as vasturia and beachem were pretty bad that day. if the starting five can all shoot well today then I think our irish win a close one. west Virginia wins a lot of games by turning you over and our irish are one of the nations best teams in fewest turnovers per game. game time is noon on cbs

Lotta game left, but the seniors need to step up. We are choking this one away. Gotta settle down, get some senior leadership, and some stops. We are making basic basketball mistakes. Leaving our feet on the dribble, inbounds into the corners ... just cannot do that

Will Ballin work with the basketball team on S&C? We just seem weaker at the ball than this team. Even Geben is getting pushed around. Disappointing half re: turnovers. Don't expect that with senior leadership but we hung in there.

They lead the nation in forcing TOs so I guess the whole country has been poorly coached ... on the flip side we've gotten to the line for 11 FTs

ND's 3 point and free throw shooting has kept them in the game. I thought West Virginia was suppose to be bad at shooting free throws but they were 7/7.

Pfluger and Gibbs look really rattled by the press. I assume Gibbs plays because he's a good defender, he is not a good enough ball handler to run point, let alone against a press in the NCAA tournament. Hopefully we make some threes, it's our only chance

West Virginia played very well...probably better than they had hoped for! If they play that well in the second half, we will bow out However, my guess is they will not....Brey will make a few adjustments, and win or lose, this will be a fun second half. Look for a much easier press break and plenty of open threes!

Coaches need to tell Beachem this is not the time to be practicing your three point shot. ND has to go with what is working our season is on the line. Take a three late int he shot clock or if youre wide open, but not in transition when there is favorable numbers for ND
