tough loss but I still like the chances of this team making a deep in the tourney with the way they are playing right now

Villanova all over again.

ND finishes the game 2-11 down the stretch, while Duke goes 7-8!

Great players finish when it matters. Taytum is a lottery pick. Kennard is a beast and what a shot from Matt Jones.

While ND settled for 3'S with tired legs, hoping one or two would drop and they could hold on, Duke just kept with the game plan and did what got them there. Ran their motion, didn't panic, fought through the fatigue and the better athletes prevailed.

I can't be too disappointed. Duke is the better team. ND needed to play up their level to beat them and instead Steve and VJ faded when ND and Colson needed them to make shots and play like poised seniors. That's sports folks.

In the past several years ND had horses. Guys who didn't tire and willed ND to Duke'S level and beat them. I'm talking Jerian Grant and the point guard that Coach K described as "perfect" Demetrious Jackson. Just thoroughbreds. Duke has those guys and they played like it with the game on the he line. ND has a tough, scrappy, veteran team, but they lack that dynamic athlete who can "go" for 40 minutes ala Grant and Jackson.

It's been a fun season, however, and I'm hoping we can find our way into the Sweet 16 here in the next few weeks!

Am I the only one to see the Duke player step over the baseline as he was inbounding the ball ? ND was down by 2 with 30 seconds left and Duke player step on the court which should have been a violation and ND ball. IMO if Duke is a 2 seed ND is a 3 .... my only question here to ND bball fans is why can't Brey get a 1 and done guy? This team has become a force in the ACC and would be a contender with a Tatum. I am not asking for a one a done every year but heck there are 25 great players going to college every year ... one of these guys has to like the idea of playing in a great offense and for a great coach with veteran's around him. A team that has final four potential is missing that one big to get them over the hump. On another note Colson is clearly an AA ... if not it's a disgrace. He was already crapped on when he didn't win the ACC player of the year.

They're going to need to get favorable match ups for that to happen.
they almost beat a now fully healthy duke team that looks like a final four contender and so i'll have to disagree with you on this. it was shown this season that anybody can be beaten if you don't come fully ready to play your best and to me that is what is going to make the tournament so fun to watch this year

ND wore out but went toe-to -toe with superior recruits. Brey showed he lack of confidence in the bench in the 2nd half. I give ND great credit on defense in the second half but when you play so hard on D it effects the offense. My concern is the bench is awful offensively . Ryan ? Gibbs? Torres? equal no points ... don't let Ryan game vs FSU fool you..... Beechum never comes up big. He is lazy on Offense and for a great shooter I thought he would rebound with a great offensive performance last night. His 15 points needed to be 25. No 3's when we needed it and his defense down the stretch was awful... why is Vasturia covering a 6-10 Tatum? because VJ couldnt . He is why they lost.

Well I will believe it when I see it. Almost beat Duke like they almost beat Villanova and almost beat Purdue, but didn't. They didn't have enough to finish.

I think realistically ND should be happy if they can win 2 games and get to the Sweet 16. If they are a 4 or 5 seed and run into a 1 seed I don't like their chances to win.

If they end up getting a 3 seed as currently projected by Lunardi, they may have a chance winning against a 2 seed depending on who it is.
