^one of the best. Certainly this year with what he has done with this team and the circumstances.
He will have some tough competition, Ferentz, Mcelwain, Fedora, Harbaugh, Herman and Rhule will all get some love too.
He certainly should get ample consideration. Too many pay no attention to the academic side of the equation. Kelly wins with real students! Good for him.
You shouldnt get credit for something you can control. The amount of talent Kelly brought it to ND on the roster was considerable. COY usually goes to someone who's team was expected not to perform well that ends up performing well.

i disagree. right now dabo is easily in the lead with ferentz, kelly and a few others in his rear view mirror.
This year is not just a BK success, but credit goes to the entire staff. Every single position coach had to deal with at least one injury to a starter. Great job all around.
I am thinking Ferentz wins. Not that he necessarily deserves it just what I think the vote will be.
I could see Dabo winning but Clemson was known to be loaded this year. Iowa was looked at as more of a 7-5 team. Plus, Ferentz has that handsome grandfather thing going that the voters love.
