Here's how today's news impacts the rest of the roster:
1) C.J. Prosise will now be a full-time running back, no question about it.
2) One of the freshmen RB's will have to work himself into the rotation. The only other option is to cross-train either Amir Carlisle or C.J. Sanders. If Torii Hunter Jr. emerges getting one of those back there is made easier.
3) Torii Hunter Jr. is now legitimately in the mix for the slot position. My guess is he begins as Carlisle's backup but if Carlisle goes down, which has happened every year of his career so far, Hunter might not give that spot up.
4) Chase Hounshell should be almost guaranteed a spot at this point if he wants it. I assume he does.
5) There is now room for Ishaq Williams and Montgomery VanGorder to be on scholarship. If Connor Cavalaris was trying to come back he'd have room as well.
Not roster related, but this opens up two spots in the 2016 recruiting class as both Heuerman and Deeb would have been back next season.
