Its an absolutely asinine conversation. It makes for great ratings and gets Michigan homers excited but its complete bs. Espn trying like crazy to talk about qs many teams, fire up as many fan bases to inspire ratings in all aspects of their college football reporting. Fox sports is trying to do same crap with Joel Klatt and Colin Coward, along with big ten network. Of course they are making a case for Michigan being ranked above ND because they cover big ten games.Espn laid the blueprint and now all other networks sre following suit.
The idea that NDs schedule doesnt compare to Michigan is just irresponsible reporting. Sure Stanford, FSU, USC are done, but so is Wisconsin and MSU, and you could make an arguement for penn state.
The bottom line is if ND and Michigan both win the rest of their games, looking at the current football playoff rankings, they would each have 3 top 25 wins.
ND- #4, 12, 22
Michigan- #10, 14, 22
How is that not at least comparable to Michigan if not better?? It is completely irresponsible to have this arguement but stations like espn have sold their soul against accurate reporting to speculation and hypotheticals for the sake of ratings.
